AOP (American Opera Projects) and Composers & the Voice Artistic Director Steven Osgood have selected six composers and three librettists to receive fellowships for its upcoming ninth season of Composers & the Voice. The 2017-2019 season will train, and present new works from, composers Matthew Browne, Scott Ordway, Frances Pollock, Pamela Stein Lynde, Liliya Ugay, and Amber Vistein and librettists Laura Barati, Kim Davies, and Sokunthary Svay. The primary focus of Composers & the Voice is to give emerging composers and librettists experience working collaboratively with singers on writing for the voice and contemporary opera stage. The School Of American Ballet (SAB) held it's annual alumni cocktail reception on June 2, 2017. The SAB event was held at it's Lincoln Center location and was attended by many of it's illustrious alumni.  SAB is one of the most famous classical ballet schools in the world and is the school of George Balanchine's New York City Ballet, a leading international ballet company based at the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts in New York City. The school trains students from the age of six, with professional vocational ballet training for students aged 11-18. (more...)

The American Dance Festival (ADF) will partner with northeast Ohio's premiere dance presenter, DANCECleveland, to premiere their summer dance festival in Cleveland. The eight-day festival will include performances by three world-class dance companies, a four-day educational workshop series for advanced level dancers taught by ADF faculty, and free community events, as well as dance related special activities throughout the Playhouse Square district. Hubbard Street Dance Chicago and Artistic Director Glenn Edgerton are excited to announce the main company's 2017-18 season performances in Chicago celebrating the company's 40 year history. Tickets to the three engagements at the Harris Theater for Music and Dance in Millennium Park located at 205 East Randolph Street, and a fourth performance at the Auditorium Theatre, located at 50 E Congress Pkwy, will be available to subscribers for renewal beginning April 13 as a Season 40 subscription; Season 40 subscriptions and single tickets will be available for purchase following the Season 39 Summer Series, June 8-11, 2017. San Francisco Ballet, long recognized for pushing boundaries in dance, has announced its 2017-18 Season program and schedule. This summer, SF Ballet will return to Festival Napa Valley for one performance only on Friday, July 21, 2017, accompanied by members of the SF Ballet Orchestra.
