OPERA America, the national service organization for opera and the nation's leading champion for American opera, is proud to announce the 2019 finalists of the Robert L.B. Tobin Director-Designer Showcase, a biennial program offered as part of OPERA America's continuing commitment to foster emerging opera artists. The showcase, made possible through generous support from the Tobin Theatre Arts Fund, was established to bring promising talent to the attention of field leaders and connect up-and-coming directors and designers with those who are in a position to advance their careers.

American Ballet Theatre's 2019 Spring season at the Metropolitan Opera House, May 13 - July 6, will feature a World Premiere work by ABT Artist in Residence Alexei Ratmansky in programs dedicated entirely to his works in honor of the choreographer's 10th year with the Company.

In collaboration with Goldstar, Glorya Kaufman Presents Dance at The Music Center (Dance at The Music Center), will offer a sweet deal for the holidays with a much-reduced one-price-fits-all opportunity to see for a special performance of George Balanchine's The Nutcracker by Miami City Ballet on Thursday, November 29, 2018 at 7:30 p.m. at The Music Center's Dorothy Chandler Pavilion

Carnegie Hall announced today that its one-night-only benefit concert performance of Leonard Bernstein's Candide on Wednesday, April 18 at 7:00 p.m. in Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage will feature Broadway starsRyan Silverman (Side Show, Cry-Baby,Chicago) as Maximilian and Bryonha Marie Parham (The Gershwins' Porgy and Bess, AfterMidnight, Prince of Broadway) as Paquette. They join the previously announced Paul Appleby (Candide), Erin Morley (Cunegonde),Patricia Racette (Old Lady), William Burden(Governor), and John Lithgow (Voltaire / Dr. Pangloss).

The United States Institute for Theatre Technology (USITT) is pleased to announce that Wendall K. Harrington, the "godmother of modern projection design" and head of the MFA program in Projection Design at the Yale School of Drama, will be delivering the keynote speech at the USITT 2018 Conference & Stage Expo.
