The Vancouver Academy of Music Symphony Orchestra (VAMSO) presents Sergei Prokofiev's timeless symphonic tale, Peter and the Wolf, November 27, 2016, 2pm at the Orpheum Theatre. This enchanting story of a boy outwitting a wolf will come to life with music by VAMSO's more than 100 musicians, and a splendid performance by dancers of Goh Ballet choreographed by Adonis Daukaev. Bard on the Beach Founder & famed theatre figure, Christopher Gaze, will lend his voice as narrator for this delightful family event.

This holiday season, Hillbarn Theatre - the Peninsula's premier community theatre company - will present Disney and Cameron Mackintosh's Mary Poppins, the magical high-flying musical that has swept the hearts and imaginations of families around the globe. Based on the books by P.L. Travers and the classic Walt Disney film, Mary Poppins follows the story of young Jane and Michael who have sent many nannies packing before Mary Poppins arrives on their doorstep. Using a combination of common sense - and a little bit of magic - she teaches the family members how to value each other again. This delightful musical features favorite Mary Poppins tunes including 'A Spoonful of Sugar,' 'Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious,' 'Jolly Holiday,' 'Let's Go Fly a Kite,' 'Step in Time,' and 'Chim Chiminey.'

In what has become an annual holiday tradition, Works & Process at the Guggenheim presents ten performances of Sergei Prokofiev's charming children's classic, Peter & the Wolf. Reviving the sold-out 2015 production, for the tenth year, renowned fashion designer Isaac Mizrahi will narrate the production. Brad Lubman will conduct Ensemble Signal.

Acrobatic performers from Cirque de la Symphonie are coming to the Chattanooga Symphony & Opera stage for a one night only special event on Friday, October 28 at Memorial Auditorium. Cirque's troupe of exceptional artists-aerial flyers, acrobats, contortionists, dancers, jugglers and strongmen-will perform on stage as the Orchestra performs classical favorites.
