Richmond Symphony Presents Tribute To Whitney Houston In Windbourne's MUSIC OF WHITNEY HOUSTON, 10/29

Whitney Houston was the most-awarded female musical performer of all time with a powerful voice that touched our hearts and souls. Join the Richmond Symphony on Saturday, October 29 at 8pm at the Altria Theater for Windborne's Music of Whitney Houston. Conductor Brent Havens will lead the orchestra as special guest vocalist Rashidra Scott performs Whitney's greatest hits such as "How Will I Know," "Where Do Broken Hearts Go?," and ""I Wanna Dance With Somebody."

A native of Norfolk, Virginia, Rashidra Scott has worked for Walt Disney Entertainment and was a member of the opening team of Hong Kong Disneyland, portraying Nala in The Festival of The Lion King. Most recently, she has been on Broadway in Avenue Q, Finian's Rainbow, Hair, and Sister Act and has made television appearances on Sony/FOX's Rescue Me, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, Dancing with the Stars, the 2011 Tony Awards, The View, Good Morning America and more.

About the Richmond Symphony

Founded in 1957, the Richmond Symphony is the largest performing arts organization in Central Virginia. The organization includes an orchestra of more than 70 professional musicians, the 150-voice Richmond Symphony Chorus and more than 260 students in the Richmond Symphony Youth Orchestra programs. Each season, more than 200,000 members of the community enjoy concerts and radio broadcasts. The Symphony also provides educational outreach programs to over 50,000 students and teachers. The Richmond Symphony is partially funded by the Virginia Commission for the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts.
