MTV today announced the categories and nominees for the 2018 'MTV Movie & TV Awards,' hosted by Tiffany Haddish, that celebrate the actors, stories and moments that drove pop culture in the last year. The show will once again feature non-gendered categories - a change that marked an industry-first historic shift. Airing on Monday, June 18 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT from the Barker Hangar in Los Angeles, additional categories and honors will be announced at a later date. The Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma will be presenting Disney's FREAKY FRIDAY, running June 26 to July 1. The show is adapted from the classic Disney movie of the same name, which starred Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis. 

Magic Reality Group, a Miami-based international production company, announced today the world premier of a new and unique production December 7-8, 2018at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County. Sleeping Beauty Dreams, a contemporary art exploration of the age-old fable, will feature global prima ballerina Diana Vishneva performing as Princess Aurora and Tony Award nominee Desmond Richardson dancing as Prince Peter.

Hulu has expanded its slate of critically-acclaimed original series with new series orders for Four Weddings and a Funeral and Ramy, which join upcoming Hulu Originals Castle Rock, Hulu's second project from J.J. Abrams and Stephen King set to premiere on July 25; Catch-22, from George Clooney and starring Kyle Chandler; The First, from Beau Willimon and starring Sean Penn; and Little Fires Everywhere, from Reese Witherspoon and Kerry Washington, based on the acclaimed novel of the same name.

Continuing the momentum created with the current season launch of its Music Knows No Borders series, Executive Director Thor Steingraber unveils the Younes and Soraya Nazarian Center for the Performing Arts' 2018-19 Season, which features four world premieres, two American premieres, several of the world's greatest orchestras, innovative jazz programs, two tributes to Hollywood legends, Broadway classics plus artists from 18 different nations who will appear on stage at The Soraya next season.  New Subscription Series tickets will go on sale May 1, 2018.

Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts is teaming up again with Los Angeles  magazine to present Center Stage:  Mapping the Ecology of Dance in Los Angeles, a dynamic discussion with both established and emerging leaders in LA's dance world on May 17, 2018 at 9:00 am. This two-part panel will explore the exciting and explosive growth of dance in Los Angeles in recent years and the influences that have made it possible. Admission is free, but reservations are required.This special event, taking place in advance of Dance USA's 10thAnnual Conference in Downtown Los Angeles, will also be available as a Facebook Live stream on The Wallis' Facebook page.

According to Deadline, Helen Mirren and Danny DeVito have signed on to join the voice cast of the upcoming THE ONE AND ONLY IVAN. The new Disney film is set to be a hybrid of live action and CGI. The two join the cast already consisting of Bryan Cranston, Ramon Rodriquez, Arianna Greenblatt, Indira Varma, Eleanor Matsuura,  Angelina Jolie, Sam Rockwell, and Brooklynn Prince. Trey Anastasio returns to Walt Disney Concert Hall for a solo performance on Friday, December 7, 2018.   Over the past three decades, composer/guitarist/vocalist Trey Anastasio has forged a multi-faceted career, winning acclaim in rock, classical, and theatrical circles. He is a founding member of Phish, one of today's most successful and innovative rock bands. Known for uncompromising musicianship and spectacular live performances, Phish released their 15th studio album, Big Boat, in October 2016 and finished the year with another sold-out four-night run at Madison Square Garden. Anastasio also tours regularly with the Trey Anastasio Band, which also released a new studio album, Paper Wheels, in October 2015.

Production has commenced at Pinewood Studios outside London on “The One and Only Ivan,” a live-action/CG hybrid adaptation of the children's book by Katherine Applegate directed by Thea Sharrock (“Me before You”). The screenplay is by two-time Independent Spirit Award winner Mike White (“Pitch Perfect 3,” “The School of Rock”) based on Applegate's award-winning book and the producers are Oscar® and three-time Golden Globe® winner Angelina Jolie (“First They Killed My Father,” “Maleficent”), the late Allison Shearmur (“Solo: A Star Wars Story,” “Cinderella”) and Brigham Taylor (“Christopher Robin,” “The Jungle Book”).

The combined vocal force of over 900 high school students from 29 Southland schools can be heard at Walt Disney Concert Hall on Friday, May 18 when the Los Angeles Master Chorale presents the 29th Annual High School Choir Festival. The Festival choir concert at 1 PM will be conducted by Grant Gershon, the Master Chorale's Kiki & David Gindler Artistic Director, and guest artist Dr. Edith A. Copley. The program for the concert includes works by Joseph Haydn, Astor Piazzolla, Paul Simon, and more. Eighty-five students have been selected by their choir directors for a prestigious Honor Choir that performs on stage during the concert.

The Frozen Original Broadway Cast Recording will be on sale digitally by Walt Disney Records on Friday, May 11, 2018 at digital music services. The physical album will be available on Friday, June 8, 2018 wherever music is sold. The album is produced by Kristen Anderson-Lopez, Robert Lopez, Stephen Oremus, Dave Metzger and Chris Montan.
