Magic Reality Group, a Miami-based international Production Company, announced today the world premier of a new and unique production December 7-8, 2018at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County. Sleeping Beauty Dreams, a contemporary art exploration of the age-old fable, will feature global prima ballerina Diana Vishneva performing as Princess Aurora and Tony Award nominee Desmond Richardson dancing as Prince Peter.

"Just like the Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg, Russia stunned the world in 1890 with the first performance of Tchaikovsky's Sleeping Beauty ballet, Sleeping Beauty Dreams will break the paradigm of performance with a fusion of dance, music, art, and revolutionary technology never seen on stage before," Magic Reality Group (MRG) chief marketing officer Michael Caputo said.

Vishneva and Richardson will be joined by renown global creative elites, including choreographer Edward Clug, Dutch costume designer Bart Hess, and Italian technology artist Carlo Ratti of Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Tobias Gremmler and Laurent Fort will shape and command imagery and light, and to assure the production breaks all boundaries, music will be written and performed by Dutch digital composers Noisia.

The legend of Sleeping Beauty has been told since the 14th century - from Perceforest to Perrault, to The Brothers Grimm, Pyotor Tchaikovsky and Walt Disney - but never once has anyone explored what precisely the princess was dreaming while she slept for 100 years. The artists of Sleeping Beauty Dreams will present their interpretation of this long held secret for the first time on Miami's hottest stage.

"I'm excited to work with this remarkable group of leading artists, and to reveal the secrets of Sleeping Beauty Dreams with Desmond Richardson," said Vishneva, who danced her 12th and final year as principal dancer of the New York City's American Ballet Theatre (ABT) in 2017. She still performs as prima ballerina of the Mariinsky Theatre, now in her 26th year.

After her final ABT performance, the world-renown dancer declared she would take her art in new and remarkable directions. Sleeping Beauty Dreams is her first project in this exciting phase of her career, surrounded by her worldwide creative peers and enveloped by groundbreaking technology. The performance will showcase the first ever fusion of contemporary dance with 3D digital avatars projected on stage in real time. This emerging technology allows the constantly transforming avatars to seamlessly replicate the dancers' movements live, adding a whole new dimension to the world of live performance.

Soon after the Miami premier, which coincides with the city's annual Art Basel celebration, Sleeping Beauty Dreams will perform in New York City December 14-15, 2018 at Beacon Theatre. For more information, media representatives are asked to call Shannon Polvino at 716-597-5188.
