Nick Jonas to Join West End Les Miserables; o2 25th Anniversary Concert

Now the star will join the West End production of Les Miserables as Marius for 3 weeks, beginning on June 21 according to the UK Daily Mail. The paper reports 'Cameron Mackintosh told me yesterday: 'I went up to him at the closing night party in New York and told him he was terrific and hoped that one day he would return to play Marius. We've been in touch a lot and, of course, since then he has become this world-famous star. 'He and his father and I agreed that it would be great if he came and played Marius here in London.'

Produced by Stage Entertainment Spain, Les Miserables will open in Teatro Lope de Vega in Madrid on November 18th 2010, directed by Laurence Connor and James Powell. It will be the second time this classic musical by Boubil and Schönberg hits the city. It first arrived in 1992, produced by José Tamayo, Plácido Domingo and Cameron Mackintosh.

Previews will begin today at Virginia's Signature Theatre for the world premiere musical Sycamore Trees written by Ricky Ian Gordon, the award-winning composer of the opera The Grapes of Wrath and the musicals Dream True and My Life with Albertine. A starry Broadway cast portrays Gordon's own family story - complete with a tough Bronx-born father and former 'Borscht Belt' singer/comedian mother - in a tale of two generations' struggles and triumphs in the decades from World War II through the 1990s.
