Oakland University, in collaboration with The Chamber Music Society of Detroit, will welcome the multi award-winning Vera Quartet and pianist Meng-Chieh Liu to campus on Sunday, March 15 for a?oeCurtis on Tour,a?? a global touring initiative of the country's most renowned conservatories. 

The Chamber Music Society of Detroit will present the multi award-winning young Vera Quartet with pianist Meng-Chieh Liu in three Detroit area concerts: 7:30 PM Friday, March 13 at the Grosse Pointe War Memorial, Saturday, March 14 at Canton's Village Theater at Cherry Hills, and 3 PM Sunday, March 15 at Oakland University's Varner Recital Hall in Rochester Hills. The program includes one of Beethoven's early string quartets, the Quartet in C minor, Op. 18, No. 4; String Quartet No. 4 ('Silent Temple') by University of Michigan composer Bright Sheng; and Franck's Piano Quintet in F minor.

Atlantis Theatrical Entertainment Group has announced that acclaimed writer, actor, and singer Rody Vera will join the cast of the Tony and Grammy Award-winning musical THE BAND'S VISIT as Tewfiq. THE BAND'S VISIT opens on March 13 at the Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium, RCBC Plaza, Makati City.

It was only eight years ago when two-time Pulitzer winner Lynn Nottage's terrific show-biz social satire, By the Way, Meet Vera Stark was first seen Off-Broadway, but director Kamilah Forbes' crackling good new mounting for Signature Theatre is a welcome return.

By The Way, Meet Vera Stark began performance on January 29 and opens on Tuesday, February 19 on the Irene Diamond Stage at the Pershing Square Signature Center. The production is a limited engagement through March 10, 2019. Get a first look at the production below!

The production began performances on January 29 with a February 19 opening night on The Irene Diamond Stage at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street between 9thand 10th Avenues).
