Eleven-year-old Nolan Young of North Berwick plays a friendly, happy caterpillar in one scene and a rather timid king in another scene of "Alice in Wonderland," showing this week at Hackmatack Playhouse in Berwick.

The Broadway Bound Vista Theatre Project (BBVTP) presents the South Carolina premiere of Lost in My Wonderland, a new full-length musical adaptation of Alice in Wonderland, August 2-5 in Cardinal Newman School's Anna Tronco Williams Performing Arts Center, 2945 Alpine Road in Columbia (29223).

Birdland Theater kicked off it's premiere summer season Tuesday night with audience favorite Lucie Arnaz, who also happened to be celebrating a birthday. Lucie's new show, "I Got The Job: Songs From My Musical Past" will take place at 7pm nightly through Saturday, July 21. There was a post-show celebration in the green room, with champagne, cake, singing, reveling and toasts to the birthday girl and new show room.

The 2018-19 Season marks Creative Cauldron's tenth year producing and presenting live theater and music. This season includes a diverse range of programming for adults and families alike. Highlighting the season will be a world premiere musical, On Air, written by internationally produced duo Stephen Gregory Smith and Matt Conner. On Air is the final installment of Creative Cauldron's five-year "Bold New Works for Intimate Stages" initiative.

It's time to put a reminder on the calendar to visit Unity Theatre for the highly anticipated summer time children's musical, Alice in Wonderland! Lewis Carroll's unflappable young heroine, Alice, takes a tumble down an enchanted rabbit hole to an off-kilter world of mock turtles, dancing flora, punctual rabbits and mad tea parties. Playing cards hold court, and nothing is as it seems in this land where whimsy and wordplay are the order of the day. Playing July 26th - July 29th, this Prince St. Players Musical by Jim Eiler and Jeanne Bargy, is chock full of music and fun and promises to bring smiles to kids of all ages. After the show, everyone has a chance to meet the characters and take photos with the actors, so feel free to come in costume!

Everyone knows the tale of Alice in Wonderland; of a young girl who falls down a rabbit hole into a fantasy, nonsensical world filled with mad creatures, so to speak. Each year features new adaptations by a plethora of theatre companies, both independent and commercial and each adaptation transforms the story to accentuate a different part of the narrative, that you wouldn't have thought of before. Unfortunately, Penny Farrow's Alice in Wonderland Live didn't teach us anything new but maybe that wasn't the playwright's intention as the production gave birth to Carroll's world spectacularly and in exuberant colours.

This adaptation of Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland begins with the Cheshire Cat standing in front of the rabbit hole entrance into Wonderland. The Cat will soon be joined by the White Rabbit sliding down his hole into Wonderland, and Alice whose overwhelming curiosity entices her to follow the White Rabbit into this wonderfully upside down world of strange creatures, playing cards that speak, Queen of Hearts, Mad Hatters, Tweedletwins, cracked Eggs, tea parties, games of croquet, and riddles galore. The Maine State Ballet unveiled its charming, colorful production of Alice in Wonderland this weekend in Falmouth to the delight of its multi-generational audience. The lavish and lovely production with choreography by Linda MacArthur Miele is faithful to Lewis Carroll's tale and brings to life the author's principal characters.

I wish I could write everything I found beautiful or hilarious or imaginative in this show, but there isn't room. You need to jump down that rabbit hole and see for yourself. Yes, it's impossible to be perfect, but as Alice says, 'I believe in the impossible.' I'm already calling this as a nominee for several awards.

Maine State Ballet takes you down the rabbit hole this spring with a three week run of the comic ballet, Alice in Wonderland, March 23 through April 8, at Maine State Ballet's Lopez Theater.

The children's classic Alice in Wonderland becomes a surreal adventure in Area Stage Company's latest musical production for its youngest artists. Director and designer Giancarlo Rodaz's wildly re-imagined version of the Disney animated film, performed by a dynamic cast of child actors and featuring original costume and set designs, will captivate kids and adults alike with its dark, fantastical vision of a girl who grapples with a nonsensical world.
