Buglisi Dance Theatre, celebrating its 23rd anniversary, is proud to present 'Women of Distinction,' a program that celebrates women, June 7-9 at The Ailey Citigroup Theater. The season will see a World Premiere by Buglisi, inspired by the first recorded author/poet, as well as Buglisi masterworksRequiem, Sand, Sospiri, Suite:Solos and Duets, and a special performance by Christine Dakin with pianist Brian Zeger. Things got real big and real ORANGE on Thursday night at Broadway Sessions, as '16 Drama grads and alums for Syracuse University took the stage at Broadway Sessions. Syracuse Alums Chris Dwan (Elliot in Finding Neverland), Catherine Charlebois (long time Nessarose in Wicked) and Stephen Carrasco (Fiddler, Kinky Boots and a zillion other  shows) were on point (as the kids say). Syracuse grad heavy vocal sensation RANGE a cappella took a break from their Nickelodeon duties and racking up Hamilton YouTube views to serenade the new comers. The grads did not dissapoint as they made it clear why Syracuse is a top 5 ranked theater school.  Check out the fantastic performances here. #GOORANGE

The show has been rumored for a transfer since it opened to rave reviews, a move confirmed today by the show's lead producer Stacey Mindich, speaking today at a Syracuse University graduation ceremony. 

Jacqulyn Buglisi Stages TABLE OF SILENCE at University of California Santa Barbara on 5/23

Jacqulyn Buglisi is honored to stage her 'Table of Silence' on 75 dance majors at the University of California, Santa Barbara, May 23 from 12 noon to 1 PM on the second anniversary of the Isla Vista tragedy, in which six UCSB students were killed.  The commemoration will be an opportunity for the campus community to join together to honor the students lost, in a message of hope, peace and healing. Choreographer Buglisi and UCSB express their deep appreciation to John Arnhold, an alumnus of UCSB and major supporter of the arts, for making this moving event possible.  UCSB musicians will accompany the dancers; the mantels and ceramic plates used in 'Table of Silence', performed annually at New York's Lincoln Center since 2011, will be provided by the New York City-based Buglisi Dance Theatre. The commemoration will be streamed live at www.live.id.ucsb.edu

BROADWAY SESSIONS is described as an evening of musical performances, games and open mic featuring a new Broadway guest each week. The show is created and hosted by Ben Cameron (Bway Wicked, Aida and Footloose) and features musical director Joshua Stephen Kartes on piano.  This Thursday night, May 12th, Broadway Sessions welcomes '16 graduates from the Drama Department at Syracuse University alongside notable Syracuse alums.
