The tragic, true story of Leo Frank, a Jewish man wrongly accused of murder in 1913 Georgia, serves as the basis for a tender love story. As Frank seethes with the injustice of his conviction, his wife Lucille finds untapped reserves of love and strength to become his greatest champion. Charlie Pollock and Mary Kate Morrissey Star in Signature Theatre's ELMER GANTRY, Beginning Tonight

Signature Theatre presents Elmer Gantry, a musical version of Sinclair Lewis' best-selling novel, directed by Signature's Artistic Director Eric Schaeffer (Broadway's Follies, Million Dollar Quartet). Schaeffer collaborated on the last production of Elmer Gantry at Marriott's Lincolnshire Theatre in Chicago with authors John Bishop (book), Mel Marvin (music) and Bob Satuloff (lyrics) in 1998; the show has not been produced since then. This will be the 5th production in the show's history. Running in the MAX Theatre today, October 7 - November 9, Signature's production will include several brand new songs by Mel Marvin and Bob Satuloff and a reimagined script that John Bishop worked on until his death in 2006.

Bringing together the best professional actors and designers from Philadelphia and across the country, Artistic Director Alexander Burns leads this collective of artists on a mission to ignite the classics through visceral, actor-focused and text-driven productions. Playwrights Horizons announced the appointment of Liz Fallon Culp as the institution's new Director of Development. Ms. Culp joins the acclaimed theater company direct from New York Public Radio (WNYC/WQXR), where she served as the Senior Director of Major Gifts and Legacy Giving. She began with the theater company this month, leading its seven-person Development department.

Signal Ensemble Theatre presents the world premiere and 2014 - 2015 season opening production of Devil's Day Off at Signal Ensemble Theatre, 1802 W. Berenice Ave., October 16 - November 22. The production is directed by Signal Ensemble Member and Co-Artistic Director Ronan Marra and written by Signal Ensemble Member Jon Steinhagen. Opening night is Saturday, October 18 at 8 p.m. Performances will run Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m. (There will be no performance Sunday, Oct. 19). Ticket prices are $23 for single tickets, $15 for industry/students/seniors/groups and $12 for previews. NOTE: There will be a Monday, Nov. 3 industry night performance at 7:30pm.
