VS. Theatre Company and Range View Bring 'Eagle' to Los Angeles

For the first time ever, VS. Theatre Company & Range View Productions have joined together to bring Los Angeles a very funny new play by one of Chicago's most compelling writers, the West Coast Premiere of EAGLE HILLS, EAGLE RIDGE, EAGLE LANDING, written by Brett Neveu (American Dead, Eric LaRue) and directed by Ron Klier (On An Average Day) . EAGLE HILLS, EAGLE RIDGE, EAGLE LANDING will preview on Friday, October 17 at 8pm and will open on Saturday, October 18 and run through Saturday, November 15 at the Hayworth Studio Theatre, 2511 Wilshire Blvd. in Los Angeles.

Philip Seymour Hoffman to Star in Upcoming Claymation Film 'Mary and Max'

Variety is reporting that stage and screen actor Philip Seymour Hoffman has just signed onto to lend his voice to the role of 'Max' in the upcoming Icon Film claymation feature 'Mary and Max'. The film center around the unlikely pen-pal friendshipe between Mary (voiced by Toni Collette), lonesome girl living in Australia and Max, a 40 something overweight man who suffers from Asperger's Syndrome living in New York. Eric Bana also stars and Barry Humphries narrates.

GOOD EGG Responsible Meg has always taken care of her bipolar younger brother Matt. But when she decides to get pregnant-and have her embryos screened for bipolar disorder-is she taking the idea of 'being responsible' too far? A funny and surprising play about bioethics, siblings, and the limits of unconditional love. Dorothy Fortenberry recently graduated from the Yale School of Drama with an MFA in Playwriting. Yale School of Drama: Good Egg (directed by Snehal Desai), Bibles and Candy (directed by Mike Donahue), After the Flood (directed by Shana Cooper). Playwright Stephen Adly Guirgis and Director Philip Seymour Hoffman have partnered on the world premiere of The Little Flower of East Orange, an inter-generational ghost story set in an upper Manhattan charity hospital, beginning previews on Tuesday, March 18. The cast for The Little Flower of East Orange will include Ellen Burstyn (Requiem for a Dream), Elizabeth Canavan (LAByrinth's Jesus Hopped The A Train), Liza Colón-Zayas (LAByrinth's A View From 151st Street), Arthur French (Dividing the Estate at Primary Stages), Gillian Jacobs (A Feminine Ending at Playwrights Horizons), Ajay Naidu (Office Space), Howie Seago (Peter Sellars' Ajax), Michael Shannon (Tracy Letts' Bug), Sidney Williams ('The Sopranos'), and David Zayas ('Dexter'). The Little Flower of East Orange will run through Sunday, April 20 with an official press opening on Sunday, April 6 at 7 PM.
