Cornish College of the Arts to Present Neil Gaiman's NEVERWHERE at Cornish Playhouse, 11/6-10

Neil Gaiman's journey through "London Below" comes to life onstage this fall, featuring the next generation of performers and technical artists from Cornish College of the Arts. Robert Kauzlaric's adaptation of Neverwhere runs November 6 through 10 at the Cornish Playhouse at Seattle Center.

The Civilians Announces Participants of 2013-14 R&D Group

The Civilians, the award-winning New York-based theatre company, announces the members of its 2013-14 R & D Group. The group's emerging and established artists were selected from over one hundred applicants. The R & D Group is comprised of artists from multiple theatrical disciplines. Each artist or creative team will develop an original work over the season. The artists and projects were selected to represent a range of different strategies for making new work from creative inquiry and research. This diversity of approach helps feed a culture of innovation in the group, making the R & D Group an effective lab of experimentation for the field of investigative theater.

In celebration of the 75th anniversary of Thornton Wilder's great dramatic homage to small-town American life and the greater universal experience of life, The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey presents Our Town beginning October 17th and continuing through November 17th at the F.M. Kirby Shakespeare Theatre, 36 Madison Ave. (at Lancaster Road) in Madison. Tickets are now on sale and can be purchased by calling the Box Office at973-408-5600 or by visiting www.ShakespeareNJ.org. Performances are Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Sundays at 7:30 p.m.; Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m.; and Saturdays and Sundays at 2 p.m. Individual tickets range from $35 to $70; student rush tickets are available 30 minutes prior to curtain for $15.

Theatre Development Fund's Online Theatre Dictionary Celebrates One-Year Anniversary

Theatre Development Fund's (TDF) fun and informative online theatre dictionary, at www.theatredictionary.org, is celebrating the year anniversary of its launch. During this first year the number of theatre terms more than doubled - from 20 to 43, all featuring unique videos as well as written definitions. To mark the occasion, TDF is premiering a new video defining the term 'Commedia dell'arte' starring RuPaul's Drag Race 5th Season winner JINKX MONSOON and MAJOR SCALES, her co-star in the hit NYC Stage production The Vaudevillians (currently at the Laurie Beechman Theatre through November 11).

Stella Adler Studio of Acting to Bring Professional Drama Educators to the Bronx

The Stella Adler Studio of Acting has announced that it is the recipient of a prestigious 21st Century Community Learning Center grant through the U.S. Department of Education, which will allow the studio to create an acting school experience in seven low-income Bronx middle schools. The program will be implemented for three years, beginning with the 2013-2014 school year. Over 900 students will participate in 24 weeks of coursework, which will include ensemble, voice and speech, movement and improvisation lessons.

Apartheid in South Africa has now been gone more than twenty years but the heroes of their struggle to achieve a 'Rainbow' coalition midst a Black majority-run democracy are still being revealed. The Human Spirit, a play written by author Carole Eglash-Kosoff, will be playing at The Stella Adler Theatre in Hollywood in late September. The Human Spirit tells the stories of real-life individuals, Black and White, Christian and Jewish, who worked tirelessly in the shadows to improve conditions for the country's most disadvantaged.
