The critically acclaimed Elephant Theatre Company presents the World Premiere of Timothy McNeil's The Twilight of Schlomo.

Actors Christopher Tierney (in his first NYC stage role since departing Broadway's Spider-Man) and Louis Butelli (Cyclops: A Rock Opera; Sleep No More) step into Jon Fosse's I AM THE WIND, replacing the previously announced James Patrick Nelson and Jonathan Tindle. Performances still begin tonight, January 9 for a limited engagement through Sunday, January 26.

Working Theater, in its 29th season off?Broadway, will in a co?production with the Harold Clurman Lab Theater, offer a piercing perspective on healthcare reform in the United States, with MERCY KILLERS, written and performed by Michael Milligan. The play, directed by Tom Oppenheim will make its off?Broadway premiere on January 7th at the Stella Adler Studio of Acting, 31 West 27th Street. The production will have its official opening on January 15th and will be performed in various communities throughout New York City in order to directly realize Working Theater's mission to bring theater to communities where working people live. Mother of Modern Acting by Sheana Ochoa, the first biography of Stella Adler, will be released by Applause Books on April 22, 2014.Arthur Miller decided to become a playwright after seeing her perform with the Group Theater. Marlon Brando attributed his acting to her genius as a teacher. Theater critic Robert Brustein called her the greatest acting teacher in America.

Teatro Italiano Network presents The Window, a romantic thriller by Marta Mondelli, directed by Shira-Lee Shalitrunning from January 18th thru 26th at the Cherry Lane Theater in Greenwich Village. The cast features Cristina Lippolis,Marta Mondelli and Scott Freeman. Inspired by Hitchcock's Rear Window, the play will mark the film's 60 year anniversary.

Fault Line Theatre will present two world-premiere's in early 2014 - Crystal Finn's THE FAIRE, about the behind the scenes lives of five Renaissance Faire performers in Northern California from February 7 through March 2 at the 4th Street Theatre (83 East 4th Street) in Manhattan; followed by BREATHING TIME by Beau Willimon ("Farragut North" and Netflix's "House of Cards" with Kevin Spacey) from March 21 through April 13 at Teatro Iati (64 East 4th Street) in Manhattan. Both productions will be directed by Fault Line Theatre co-Artistic Director Aaron Rossini.

Representing the Stella Adler Studio of Acting is a great honor and responsibility. Stella Adler along with the other members of the Group Theater revolutionized the American Theater scene. Stella Adler, Harold Clurman, Lee Strasberg, Bobby Lewis, Elia Kazan, Clifford Odets, Sanford Meisner, Lee J. Cobb, these names are legends to drama students and theater history buffs. And when one looks at the legacy they left behind through successive generations of students- Marlon Brando, Elaine Stritch, Warren Beatty, Estelle Parsons, Robert Deniro, James Dean, Al Pacino, Paul Newman, the list goes on and on, one begins to get a sense of the impact the Group Theater has had, not only in America, but the world.

On the heels of their acclaimed productions of 1931- and Success Story, The ReGroup Theatre Company turns its attention to the Group Theatre's very first play, Paul Green's The House of Connelly. With special permission and support from the Paul Green Foundation, this poetic tale gets a much overdue NY revival. The play shows us an iconic struggle: the last dying gasps of the Old South as it tries to prevent the progression of new ideas.

The Stella Adler Studio of Acting and Staying Out and Getting Out (GOSO) have announced that students who participate in the GEDPlus program at GOSO's one-room schoolhouse in Harlem have written seven original short plays based on the films and life of Marlon Brando, an alumnus of the studio.

Prospective applicants may audition for programs including the 3-Year Conservatory, 2-Year Evening Conservatory, Summer Conservatory, Shakespeare Intensive, Chekhov Intensive, Physical Theatre Intensive, Musical Theatre Intensive, and Teen Summer Conservatory.
