The October broadcasts of The New York Philharmonic This Week - the weekly radio series of concerts and recordings by the New York Philharmonic, hosted by Alec Baldwin - begins with Jeffrey Kahane conducting the New York Philharmonic in J.S. Bach's Concerto for Violin and Oboe, featuring Principal Associate Concertmaster Sheryl Staples (now the Orchestra's Acting Concertmaster) and Principal Oboe Liang Wang with Mr. Kahane leading from the harpsichord; Mozart's Symphony No. 33; and Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 1, with Mr. Kahane conducting from the piano.

Hosted by Tinabeth Piña reporting from Brooklyn Museum, the newest ARTS IN THE CITY debuts tonight, April 11 (2014) on CUNY TV* at 10am, 3pm and 8:30pm; is repeated Sunday 4/13 at noon; and returns Friday 4/25 at 10am, 3pm and 8:30pm and on Sunday 4/27 at noon on CUNY TV. The Young People's Chorus of New York City, founded in 1988 by Artistic Director and MacArthur 'genius' Fellow Francisco J. Nuñez on a mission of diversity and artistic excellence, celebrates its next 25 years with a gala benefit concert at Frederick P. Rose Hall, home of Jazz at Lincoln Center, followed by a festive dinner at the Mandarin Oriental. It all begins at 7 p.m. on Monday, March 3, 2014, with all proceeds benefitting the almost 1,400 children, ages 7 to 18, in YPC's award-winning after-school and in-school programs.
