Today, the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts announced two performances in the 2019-2020 Kauffman Center Presents series.

On May 9-10, Irish singer, actor, and songwriter Lisa Lambe (of Celtic Women) will make an exhilarating return to Irish Arts Center for performances of work from her second solo album. Alt-pop artist Rachael Sage, acclaimed for her 'rich vocals, sparkling piano and yearning poetry' (Time Out New York), will perform songs from her upcoming acoustic album, PseudoMyopia (May 23) as part of Irish Arts Center's SongLives series showcasing Ireland and North America's most exciting contemporary singer-songwriters.

Acclaimed country and folk music artists Mary Chapin Carpenter and Shawn Colvin will perform at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts in Helzberg Hall on October 10, as part of the 2019-2020 Kauffman Center Presents series.

Mary Chapin Carpenter and Shawn Colvin will embark on a series of tour dates throughout the fall of 2019. Carpenter and Colvin—longtime friends for over 30 years— will appear on stage together as an intimate acoustic duo, swapping songs and sharing stories. These special shows will feature the acclaimed songwriters performing material from their vast catalogues as well as some of their favorite songs.  

The Robert and Margrit Mondavi Center for the Performing Arts, UC Davis announces its 18th season of performing arts, filled with the leading artists in music, dance and theater alongside an insightful group of speakers. The season begins on Sunday, September 29, with a family-friendly performance from gospel true-believers Trey McLaughlin & The Sounds of Zamar and concludes June 7, 2020 with the Alexander String Quartet finishing a two-year cycle of the complete Shostakovich string quartets.

Coming off a recent taping of “Cellar Sessions” at New York's City Winery just last month where she was able to debut some of her most inspired tracks in an intimate live setting, acclaimed Singer/Songwriter Brooke Moriber has finally released her brand new album Cry Like A Girl!

In its inaugural year, this weekend-long festival celebrates the best of traditional and modern Americana with a lineup of performers ranging from contemporary singer-songwriters to legacy artists and those who defy categorization. The festival seeks to bridge generations and music, to bring together an eclectic group of performers for an amazing weekend of music.

It was Up UP and Away last night at the Eissey Campus Theatre as Jimmy Webb, one of America's most highly regarded songwriters spent an evening playing and singing his music for the Palm Beach Audience. It's always thrilling to hear the stories behind the creation of iconic music, and I was thinking as Jimmy performed his songs, I guess this it what have been like if the likes of George Gershwin and the other great composers were around to spend an evening describing the process and inspiration of creating music and lyrics.

California via Australia's Shelley Segal is set to release her six-song EP, HOLY, in March.  Segal's Americana-tinged latest tackles homesickness (“Already Gone”), religion and leaving the strict Jewish upbringing of her youth (“Holy Man”), a true crime story a murder/suicide (“San Antonio”), national tribalism (“Blood”), love and life partnership (“Here”) and consent in the time of #MeToo (“No”.) Segal will tour North America this spring with stops in Arizona, Florida, Nashville and Philadelphia amongst others.

The Riverside Opera Company(ROC) and Richmond County Orchestra(RCO), under the direction of Maestro Alan Aurelia presents the 2nd Annual Staten Island Has Talent @NYPL. The performers are winners of open public auditions held by the RCO and ROC . They will sing and perform selections of their choosing. The performance is free and open to the public on Saturday, March 16th at 2:30 p.m. at the RichmondTown branch of the New York Public Library located at 200 Clarke Avenue, Staten Island. GRAMMY® Award winner Patty Griffin has announced the release of her long-awaited new album. The acclaimed singer-songwriter's 10th studio recording and first-ever eponymous LP, PATTY GRIFFIN arrives Friday, March 8 on her own PGM Recordings label via Thirty Tigers. The album was recorded predominantly at Griffin's home in Austin, TX, with Griffin and longtime collaborator Craig Ross co-producing, while the band is made up of a number of friends and frequent accompanists, including Ross, guitarist David Pulkingham, drummer/percussionist Conrad Choucroun, cellist Lindsey Verrill, pianist Stephen Barber, and Robert Plant, who contributes backing vocals to the LP's 'What Now' and 'Coins.'

Singer, Songwriter, Performer and Actor John Torres recently released his new inspirational and timely holiday single “This Season (In This World Together,)” a song that was penned by Torres and songwriter Chip Rosenbloom. “This Season (In This World Together,)” was released on November 9th and has 100,000 streams on Spotify.

Pete Muller, who has performed his winsome combination of jazz, folk and pop everywhere from the Montreux Jazz Festival to the late, great Caffe Vivaldi in Greenwich Village (where he was a longtime resident artist), will be in concert at the Rockwood Music Hall Stage 3 in New York City on December 12 at 7:00pm.
