Executive Producer Lou Spisto today announced the cast and creative team for the World Premiere of Somewhere, a new play by Old Globe Playwright-in-Residence Matthew Lopez. Lopez's play The Whipping Man was a critical success in New York last season after receiving its West Coast Premiere at the Globe in a production directed by Giovanna Sardelli. Sardelli returns to direct Somewhere, which will run in the Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center, Sept. 24 - Oct. 30. Preview performances run Sept. 24 - Sept. 28. Opening night is Thursday, Sept. 29 at 8:00 p.m. Tickets are currently available by subscription only. Single tickets will go on sale on Sunday, Sept. 4. Hurricane Irene may have frightened most theater venues into closing its doors this evening, but play-goers can still catch a showing of the fringe-favorite Channeling Kevin Spacey. The show will play tonight at the St. Luke's Theatre at 7 p.m.

American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) has scheduled two American Sign Language (ASL) interpreted performances and two audio described performances of The Gershwins' Porgy and Bess during the month of September.

Immediate Theatre is proud to announce the company's return to the city's theatre scene with the Chicago premiere of Adam Bock's touching and hilarious Five Flights, November 10 - December 18, at Red Tape Theatre, 621 W. Belmont Ave., directed by Immediate Theatre Artistic Director Peter Cieply. Previews are November 10 - 13, and Five Flights' press opening is Monday, November 14 at 7 p.m.

A.R.T. American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) opens its 2011-12 season with The Gershwins' Porgy and Bess, by George Gershwin, DuBose and Dorothy Heyward, and Ira Gershwin. The adaptation by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Suzan-Lori Parks and Obie Award-winning composer Diedre L. Murray, directed by A.R.T. Artistic Director Diane Paulus, with choreography by Ronald K. Brown, begins previews on August 17 and opens for the reviewing press on August 31 at 7pm. Performances are at the Loeb Drama Center, 64 Brattle Street, Cambridge. Tickets for preview performances are currently on sale, remaining tickets for the run go on sale on July 12. The Colony Theatre will present the third production of its 37th season of shows - the West Coast Premiere of SHOOTING STAR, written by Steven Dietz and directed by David Rose.

Channeling Kevin Spacey, the irreverent, whirlwind comedy currently playing Off-Broadway, has added a performance and revamped its schedule. The play, which began previews April 17 and opened May 15 at the St. Luke's Theatre, will begin shows on Friday evenings at 8 pm in addition to its Saturday and Sunday evening performances.
