RED Company real.edge.dance will present a full evening concert of eclectic and dynamically charged dance works on the main campus of The University of Akron's Daum Theater (Kolbe Hall). RED will perform Friday, October 26, 8:13pm, Saturday, October 27, 8:13 pm, and Sunday, October 28, 3:13 pm.

NYC & Company, New York City's official marketing, tourism and partnership organization, New York Comedy Festival and Comedy Central today announced the second annual Comedy Week, November 5-11. On the heels of Election Night, Comedy Central's sketch-comedy duo, Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele, from the hit series Key & Peele will perform a free Comedy Week show as part of the weeklong celebration on Wednesday, November 7, at8 pm at the NYU Skirball Center for the Performing Arts. In addition, more than 175 comedians will be in New York City to participate in the New York Comedy Festival, performing at some of New York City's most iconic venues, including the Apollo Theater, Carnegie Hall, the Beacon Theatre, Madison Square Garden, Town Hall and Carolines on Broadway.

Ross Kramberg, a seasoned arts administrator with a strong focus in dance, has been named Executive Director of Ballet Hispanico, the nation's preeminent Latino dance organization.

Strawshop's 2004 production of This Land was the first show in the company's history.

The 2012 James Whitmore Award, established through the William D. Eppes Endowment Fund, was presented on Saturday, August 25th to Eb Madson, a member of the Peterborough Players Second Company.

Young dancers in central Indiana can study with ballet greats by taking part in the Indianapolis City Ballet's Master Class Series. The 2012-2013 series, ICB's fourth season, is sponsored by philanthropists Jock and Penny Fortune and takes its first leap Sept. 9, 2012.

Houston Ballet Artistic Director Stanton Welch announced touring plans for both the company and second company's 2012-2013 season today. Over the next year, touring engagements will take Houston Ballet from Chicago to Switzerland.

Ballet Hispanico, recognized as the preeminent Latino dance institution in the United States, announces the first performance of the Fall 2012 Season for BHdos, the company's pre-professional troupe. On September 2, 2012 at 2:00 pm, the company will perform at Central Park's Charles A. Dana Discover Center. The performance is the closing event of the Harlem Meer Performance Festival. The University of Houston School of Theatre & Dance has long produced successful acting talents. Thanks to the school's stage management program, it's also launching the careers of behind-the-scenes stars.In 2011, the school began offering a concentration in stage management for students pursuing a bachelor of fine arts (BFA) in theater. Next summer, the school will graduate its first stage management BFA student, while several others recently took their talents to theater companies across the country.

The Group Rep at the Lonny Chapman Theatre is proud to present Jon Robin Baitz' THE PARIS LETTER, directed by the award-winning, Jules Aaron produced by Patrick Burke for the Group Rep at the Lonny Chapman Theatre in the NoHo Arts District of North Hollywood, California. The play runs July 20 through September 2, 2012.

The Canadian Opera Company hosts its second annual Ensemble Studio Competition on November 29, 2012 in the intimate Richard Bradshaw Amphitheatre at the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts. The Ensemble Studio Competition is the final round of national auditions for the COC Ensemble Studio, Canada's premier training program for young opera professionals. On November 29, Canada's finest young opera singers will compete in front of a public audience for four cash prizes and the offer of a coveted position in the 2013/2014 Ensemble Studio.

Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater inspired audiences in Paris this summer and will continue to do so this fall worldwide. The new season is led by artistic director Robert Battle at the New York City Center November 28th to December 30th.

Nashville Ballet announced its performance line-up today for the 2012-2013 season, which includes a new contemporary work featuring Nashville music and the return of several classic story ballets showcasing the versatility of Nashville Ballet dancers.

The Peterborough Players presents its first children's show of the season, A Duck Called Ugly, adapted by Catherine Gray from the book The Ugly Duckling by Hans Christian Andersen. Appropriate for children age four and up, this beloved story opens June 29th and runs for a total of nine performances through July 21st; all performances start at 10:30 a.m. and end at approximately 11:20 a.m.

The Opera Company of Philadelphia, in collaboration with Gotham Chamber Opera and Music-Theatre Group in New York, announces that composer Missy Mazzoli has been selected as its second Composer In Residence (CIR).

Today, Tony Sunday, June 10, "60 Minutes" will re-air an interview with Trey Parker and Matt Stone, the four-time Emmy Award winning creators of "South Park" and the Tony Award-winning co-authors of THE BOOK OF MORMON. The interview originally aired in September, 2011. "60 Minutes" airs at 7:00 PM (ET) on CBS-TV.

The London production of THE BOOK OF MORMON, winner of Nine 2011 Tony Awards including Best Musical of the Year, will begin preview performances in the West End at the Prince of Wales Theatre on 25 February 2013 with tickets released for general sale on 13 September 2012.

Opera Company of Middlebury, which has gained a reputation for staging opera's rarely produced masterworks, brings fourteen professional singers to the area this month to present Massenet's sublime THAÏS. The piece, which includes the famous violin solo "Mediation," will be given five performances from tonight, June 8 to 16 at Middlebury's Town Hall Theater.
