Mercy Street Theatre kicks off its second season with the world premiere of MERRY CHRISTMAS, MULCH PILE!, written by resident playwright Dakota Parobek.  The show runs December 3 - 6, 2015 at Hairpin Arts Center, 2810 N Milwaukee Ave. in Chicago.

Hallmark Channel continues to ring in the holiday spirit with its two most recent original premieres, Ice Sculpture Christmas and Charming Christmas, propelling the network to be the most-watched and highest-rated among HHs, W25-54 and total viewers for the entire weekend.

Roxey Ballet presents its 21st annual holiday extravaganza: Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker. Showcasing an international cast comprised of more than 150 professional, pre-professional and local dancers and actors, this year's performances take place November 28-29 and December 5-7 at The College of New Jersey's Kendall Hall.

Washington, DC's award-winning power pop trio for kids and families -- Rocknoceros -- will ring in the holidays with three days of festive family sing-alongs!

The Jewish Museum will present its annual Hanukkah Family Day, a fun-filled day of activities, on Sunday, December 6 from Noon to 4 pm. 

Contemporary retellings of original sensations, heartwarming stories, comedies and horror tales are all a part of the Hershey Area Playhouse 2016 season.

On December 12 at 11AM, the students at Portsmouth Academy of Performing Arts, otherwise known as PAPA, will premiere their new show, SAVING SANTA at the Seacoast Rep.

John Schneider and Tom Wopat - the original stars of 'The Dukes of Hazzard' - will release a special vinyl version of their acclaimed holiday album HOME FOR CHRISTMAS. The LP will be available on Friday, November 20 at TomWopat.com. They will celebrate the vinyl release with concerts on December 5 (John Schneider Studios in Holden, LA), December 16 (The Lyric Theatre in Stuart, FL) and December 20 (a Tom solo show at the Ringling Theater in Baraboo, WI).

Portland Ovations swings into the spirit of the season with Big Band Holidays, a special concert featuring the unrivaled Wynton Marsalis and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, on December 2, at 7:30 pm at Merrill Auditorium. 

“Is there a Santa Claus?” eight year old Virginia O'Hanlon wrote to the editor of the New York Sun newspaper in 1897.  The newspaper's heartfelt reply, printed on the front page and written by a reporter struggling with the death of his wife, has been part of American Christmas folklore for more than 100 years.  “The most real things in the world are those that neither children nor men can see.”  Based on a true story.

Based on the 2003 Will Ferrell film, "Elf" the musical is as "Sparklejollytwinklejingley" as its title character. Santa reads a children's book. Elves tap dance. And it snows inside the Empire State Building. Matthew Sklar and Chad Beguelin's infectious songs see romantic skaters at Rockefeller Center, neglected mall Santas in a lineup worthy of the Rockettes, and a flying sleigh that audiences will love. Sharp choreography and imaginative costumes in front of a winter palette of blue snowflakes and windy skies give the production a story book feel. Although the pace of the show feels somewhat rushed, it keeps the energy going and the younger viewers enthralled. Meanwhile, fans of the original movie will find their favorite comedic lines mixed with fresh humor from book writers Thomas Meehan and Bob Martin ("The Drowsy Chaperone").

Fort Wayne Civic Theatre presents A CHRISTMAS STORY - THE MUSICAL at Arts United Center, tonight, November 7-22, 2015.

The 84th Annual Hollywood Christmas Parade celebrating The Magic of Christmas featuring Marine Toys for Tots Foundation, presented by Associated Television International and The City of Los Angeles, will be led this year by renowned magicians andParade Grand Marshals Penn & Teller.  Today the parade is announcing sponsors, bands, balloons, floats, characters/novelties and equestrian units which will be part of the 2015 parade making its 3.2 mile trek through the streets of Hollywood, CA at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 29, 2015.  The parade will be hosted by Erik Estrada, Laura McKenzie, Dean Cain and Montel Williams, with special guest hosts Elizabeth Stanton and Garrett Clayton.

Pioneer Theatre Company presents It Happened One Christmas, December 4 - 19, 2015. It Happened One Christmas is a new musical revue created by Karen Azenberg and Kenneth Jones specifically for the Pioneer Theatre audience.
