Arvada Center to Present 'SAMUEL BECKET & CLYFFORD STILL' on 4/14

The Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities will present Samuel Beckett & Clyfford Still: Uncommon Perspectives in the Late 1950s, a talk and live reading of Beckett's radio play Embers on Monday, April 14, 2014 at 7:30 p.m. in the Black Box Theater. The evening is presented in partnership with the Clyfford Still Museum in support of its exhibition 1959: The Albright-Knox Art Gallery Exhibition Recreated. Tickets are $10 - $15. Court Theatre announces its 60th season under the continuing leadership of Artistic Director Charles Newell, Executive Director Stephen J. Albert, and Board Chair Marilyn Fatt Vitale. The company's ambitious 2014/15 season will feature the World Premiere of Native Son adapted from Richard Wright's classic novel by Nambi E. Kelley and co-produced with American Blues Theater; Euripides' Iphigenia in Aulis translated by Nicholas Rudall and directed by Artistic Director Charles Newell; Samuel Beckett's Waiting for Godot, directed by Resident Artist Ron OJ Parson; and the World Premiere of Lisa Peterson and Denis O'Hare's The Good Book, directed by Lisa Peterson. Closing out the anniversary season is Marsha Norman and Lucy Simon's The Secret Garden, based on the beloved novel by Frances Hodgson Burnett and directed by Artistic Director Charles Newell with music direction by Doug Peck. Theatre School at DePaul University to Present JACKIE & ME, 4/8-5/10

The Theatre School at DePaul University will present Jackie & Me, by Steven Dietz, adapted from the novel by Dan Gutman, and directed by John Jenkins, as the final production of the 2013-2014 Chicago Playworks for Families and Young Audiences season. This production opens Tuesday, April 8, and runs through Saturday, May 10, 2014, at DePaul's historic Merle Reskin Theatre. Performances are Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10 AM, and Saturdays at 2 PM. Friday performances will be held on May 2 and 9 (10 AM). A special Sunday performance (2 PM) will be held on May 4. There will be no Saturday performance on May 3. (more...)
