In their newest ad spot, The New York Lottery gives a nod to recent award-winning film LA LA LAND, as they feature a brightly dressed couple dancing around the city singing about love (and incompatibility). Cannes' Critic Week saw the premiere of this year's newest Carey Mulligan movie, Wildlife: a shattering, 1960s-set drama in which she co-stars alongside Jake Gyllenhaal?. In it, she plays a woman who cheats on her husband. 'It's the kind of warts-and-all role that are usually reserved for men,' Mulligan said, according to Variety. However, prior to the film's fall release, Mulligan is getting back onstage and starring in Girls & Boys, a one-woman show that recently opened at the Minetta Lane Theatre after a sold-out run in London.

Beau Knapp (Seven Seconds, The Nice Guys), Alexis Bledel (The Handmaid's Tale, Gilmore Girls), Kurt Russell (The Hateful Eight), Luke Hemsworth (Westworld), Jeremie Harris (Legion) and Vincent Kartheiser (Mad Men) will lead the cast of CRYPTO.  The film is directed by John Stalberg, Jr., written by Carlyle Eubank and David Frigerio based on an original story by Jeffrey Ingber, and produced by Yale Productions' Jordan Yale Levine and Jordan Beckerman, along with David Frigerio.

On the eve of the premiere of GENIUS: PICASSO on Tuesday April 24, National Geographic announced today that the third season of its acclaimed scripted anthology series will bring to life the myth maker and towering literary figure Mary Shelley. From Fox 21 Television Studios, the new season will again be executive produced by Brian Grazer and Ron Howard's Imagine Entertainment, MWM Studios and EUE/Sokolow, and will premiere globally on National Geographic in 172 countries and 43 languages in 2019. The first season of GENIUS was watched by more than 45 million people around the world, and was National Geographic's best performing new series launch ever.

When you think the classic era of Broadway Musicals, many lean toward Rodgers and Hammerstein or Lerner and Loewe but for my money I always go right to Cole Porter. Maybe not as prolific when it comes to hit shows as the others but you can't dismiss the undeniable genius of "Anything Goes" and of course "Kiss Me, Kate" (my personal favorite), currently playing at the 5th Avenue Theatre. And the folks at the 5th have not only done right by this classic tuner by packing it to the brim with the best singers, dancers and comedians they could find but the production is a love letter to the predecessors of the production, most notably the visual style which is so reminiscent of the 1953 film version, making this far more than a killer show, but an homage.

According to Variety, Tiffany Haddish is set to executive produce a comedy series in development at HBO. The project is currently titled “Unsubscribed' described as an examination of female blackness, beauty, and identity through a behind-the-scenes look at the Instagram hustle.
