This June, Hybridge Arts Collective will present On the Rocks, the newest solo work of emerging dance artist, Stuart Meyers (in collaboration with Adam Kerbel.) This production will mark the 3rd installment of Blueprint Breakout Series, a 3-month partnership that culminates in a World Premiere performance at Broad Street Ministry. On the Rocks is an evening-length solo that electrifies and transforms the performance space of this Center City community arts hub.

A queer clown with a red bucket walks into a room and explodes it into a nightclub. He's looking for lust, transcendence, and maybe even love. With a wink to the club kids, this fantasy unfolds like a feverish music video. Stuart Meyers' raw, new material strips away the glitter and glamour of queer club life as it dives deep into the heart of its subject matter. On the Rocks investigates the public displays and the private spirituality of the darkened dance floor. Audiences should prepare to be inebriated, disoriented and transported by On the Rocks.

On the Rocks will be presented at Broad Street Ministry on June 24 and 25 at 8pm. Admission is $5 at the door (cash). A meal is provided with admission. Call 609.477.3173 for details. Broad Street Ministry is located at 315 South Broad Street Philadelphia, PA.

Created and performed by Stuart Meyers, the piece also features the work of collaborator Adam Kerbel, production manager Kelly Turner, and producers Sam Tower and Britney Leigh Hines.

Stuart Meyers, creator and performer of On The Rocks, is a recent graduate of Boston University's School of Theatre. After spending the Summer of 2012 as an apprentice to visionary theatre director Robert Wilson, Stuart took his multifaceted talents to Philly where he's been dancing, sculpting, drawing, singing and acting.

Stuart's original six-minute version of On The Rocks has been shown at The Bates Dance Festival, Boston University, The American College Dance Festival, The InHale Performance Series at Chi MAC and The Watermill Center.
