Producer David Stone announced today that If/Then, the new musical by the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning creative team behind Next To Normal, Tom Kitt (music), Brian Yorkey (book and lyrics), and Michael Greif (director), will play Broadway's Richard Rodgers Theatre (226 West 46th Street) in spring 2014. Starring Tony Award-Winner Idina Menzel, If/Then will begin preview performances on Tuesday, March 4, and officially open on Thursday, March 27, 2014. NATASHA, PIERRE & THE GREAT COMET OF 1812 has announced its new rush ticketing policy, available for select performances, beginning immediately. Beginning this week, there will be $49 tickets available for Wednesday matinees, Saturday early evening performances, and Sunday matinees. Rush tickets can be purchased at the box office of Kazino (West 13th Street and Washington Street) beginning 2 hours prior to the posted curtain time, as well as online at www.thegreatcometof1812.com beginning the day of the performance at 10am by using the code RUSH at check-out. Several high profile Shakespearean productions gear up to hit stages and movie theatres around the globe in the latter months of 2013. Here is a preview of three of the most anticipated events to watch for in the coming months.

A Midsummer Night's Dream, William Shakespeare's popular story of illusive and abiding love, opened Saturday to cheers and a robust crowd at Harlem's Richard Rodgers Amphitheater in Marcus Garvey Park. The show, produced by the Classical Theatre of Harlem (CTH) (Producing Artistic Director, Ty Jones), is directed by CTH Artistic Associate and Oberlin College Professor of Theater and Africana Studies Justin Emeka and runs Tuesdays through Sundays at 7:30 pm through July 20. It'll be a grand night for singing on Wednesday, July 17 at 6:30 p.m. as Christopher Bell conducts the Grant Park Orchestra and Chorus in a salute to the legendary team of Rodgers and Hammerstein at the Jay Pritzker Pavilion in Chicago's Millennium Park. Joined by guest artists Rebecca Luker, Doug LaBrecque and William Michals, they will showcase the music of Oklahoma, South Pacific, The King and I, Carousel and The Sound of Music by Rodgers and Hammerstein, along with favorites from Kern and Hammerstein and Rodgers and Hart. The concert is free.

The Classical Theatre of Harlem (CTH) (Producing Artistic Director, Ty Jones), presents the Shakespeare classic A Midsummer Night's Dream directed by Artistic Associate Justin Emeka this summer in Harlem's Richard Rodgers Amphitheater in Marcus Garvey Park. Performances of the free play, which runs today, July 13-30 (on Tuesdays through Sunday) at 7:30 pm, are made possible by the Ford Foundation.

Amphibian Stage Productions announced today that it will present Nobody's Hart: Diana Sheehan Sings the Lyrics of Lorenz Hart this fall from September 12 through 15, 2013. The cabaret, which pays tribute to the Broadway lyricist, with music by Richard Rodgers, will be presented as additional programming outside of the company's ongoing 2013 season.

Carner and Gregor have announced the winners of the BARELY LEGAL SHOWTUNE EXTRAVAGANZA V casting contest. Eight winners were selected from over 100 submissions received from college students around the country. Winners were selected by a four-person judging panel comprised of Casting Directors Michael Cassara and Jason Najjoum, Concert Director Marlo Hunter, and Concert Producer Alina Gutierrez. Carner and Gregor were not involved in the judging process. After four sold-out editions, Carner & Gregor's BARELY LEGAL SHOWTUNE EXTRAVAGANZA is back for its fifth year. The concert will take place Monday, August 5th at (le) Poisson Rouge. Showtime is 8PM. Doors open at 7PM.

Following a sold-out engagement of Camelot in concert this past January, Palm Beach Dramaworks is proud to announce the next two musicals in their new Musical Theatre Masters program. Man of La Mancha will kick off the summer series tonight, July 10 and run through July 21, with Carousel up next from Today, August 7 through August 18 at the Don & Ann Brown Theatre (201 Clematis Street). Directed by Clive Cholerton, the legendary musicals will play two weeks of performances.
