Acclaimed Bay Area crooner Craig Jessup returns to the concert stage with another collection of classics from the Great American Songbook tonight September 19 at 8pm at 142 Throckmorton Theatre (142 Throckmorton Ave., Mill Valley).

Single-show tickets go on sale today, Sept. 19 for three hit musicals in the 2014-15 Broadway Sacramento season: Dirty Dancing - The Classic Story On Stage, the high-energy musical based on the beloved 1987 movie; a new production of the ever-popular Andrew Lloyd Webber & Tim Rice hit Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, featuring two stars from American Idol and Broadway fame; and the return of the audience favorite RAIN: A Tribute to The Beatles, in a newly expanded version of the show

Broadway and West End producer Judith Ann Abrams has been involved with multiple ground-breaking and multi-award-winning shows in the last 15 years. The Performing Arts Department Theatre program has announced its Fall 2014 Harry Hope Theatre season of shows whichwill take the characters and the audiences on journeys through time to distant shores. First up, On The Verge, or the Geography of Yearning by Eric Overmyer will be directed by F. Chase Rozelle III and will run October 7-12, 2014 (Tuesday-Saturday at 7:30 p.m.; Sunday at 4 p.m.)in the Harry Hope Theatre (Shafer Hall ground floor; corner of High and Valley Streets, Willimantic, CT 06226).

54 Below, Broadway's Supper Club, presents 'The Songs of Miller and Tysen' tonight, September 15th, 2014. Shows at 7:00pm and 9:30pm. Described as equal parts James Taylor and Stephen Sondheim, Chris Miller and Nathan Tysen's songs have been performed everywhere from East Village folk clubs, to Off-Broadway theaters, to Sesame Street. The concert will feature some of Broadway's best performers singing never-before-heard material from Tuck Everlasting, which premieres at the Alliance Theatre in Atlanta this winter. The concert will also include favorite tunes from The Burnt Part Boys, and The Mysteries of Harris Burdick.

Oscar 'Andy' Hammerstein III, Grandson of the late Oscar Hammerstein II, will host two special events for the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts. The presentations will be held at the Brooklyn Public Library at Kensington - Saturday, August 16 at 2 p.m. and the Brooklyn Public Library at Kings Highway - today, September 13 at 1:30 p.m.

Keke Palmer made her Broadway debut by stepping into the title role of Rodgers + Hammerstein's CINDERELLA earlier this week on, September 9, 2014, making history as the first African-American Cinderella on Broadway. When Oklahoma! was first produced on Broadway in 1943 it became the first smash hit for newly formed collaborating team Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II and also the first real book musical, preceded only by Showboat. It was a breakthrough musical, which when given a first-class production, is still, some 71 years later, without question, one of the greatest American musicals ever written. 'The Farmer and the Cowman' truly represents the philosophy of what America is all about, a unity and pride that is unmistakably individual. Welk Resorts' newest production is wonderfully entertaining, retaining a lot of traditional elements. Director Dan Mojica jubilantly brings together a very talented cast now in Escondido through November 16.

The West Coast premiere of the film adaptation LUCKY STIFF will take place at the Hollywood Film Festival on October 17 at the ArcLight Cinerama Dome. The film, based on an off-Broadway show from Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty ('Ragtime'), stars Jason Alexander ('Seinfeld'), British stage actor Dominic Marsh, Tony winner Nikki M. Producer Ken Gentry for NETworks Presentations, in collaboration with Ted Chapin, President and Executive Director of Rodgers & Hammerstein: An Imagem Company, announced today that a brand new production ofTHE SOUND OF MUSIC, directed by Jack O'Brien, will tour North America beginning September 2015. This lavish new production will launch at the Ahmanson Theatre in Los Angeles, under the auspices of the Center Theatre Group, and will then tour North America for multiple seasons, playing multi-week and week-long engagements. Additional cities and casting will be announced at a later time.
