Hudson Village Theatre to Present THE 39 STEPS, 8/13-24

Cincinnati Shakespeare Company begins gearing up for the 2014-2015 season with the audience favorite of 'The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged)' by Adam Long, Daniel Singer and Jess Winfield. This wacky comedy condenses all thirty-eight of Shakespeare's plays into just ninety-seven minutes. Featuring Jeremy Dubin, Justin McCombs and Nicholas Rose, 'The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged)' opens July 25, 2014 and runs through August 16, 2014 and is directed by Artistic Associate, Sara Clark. Hedgerow Presents THE 39 STEPS, 7/10-8/17

Summer at Hedgerow Theatre has come to mean it's time for a farce, and this year is no exception. The tradition of sublime silliness continues with The 39 Steps, Patrick Barlow's Tony Award-winning spoof of the Alfred Hitchcock film that was deemed "absurdly enjoyable" by The New York Times. 'I wanted to do something mindless and trivial, so I went to the theater,' says Hannay, the central character in the Christina Kirk directed production. Bootless Stageworks Partners with Lutheran Community Services Food Pantry for Food Drive at THE 39 STEPS

Contrary to Alfred Hitchcock's tendency for horror, Bootless Stageworks is using the master of suspense's play, The 39 Steps, as an opportunity to spread the love. Pairing with the Lutheran Community Services Food Pantry at St. Stephen's Lutheran Church, Bootless encourages theater patrons to bring canned goods for donation in exchange for a reduced ticket price to the Hitchcock production. Alley Theatre Artistic Director Gregory Boyd announces the cast and creative team for Alan Ayckbourn's science fiction comedy Communicating Doors. Eleven plays penned by Alan Ayckbourn have been produced by the Alley, including the American premiere of Henceforward, directed by Ayckbourn, in 1987 and House & Garden in 2002. Alan Ayckbourn has been inducted into the American Theatre's Hall of Fame, received the 2010 Critics' Circle Award for Services to the Arts, became the first British playwright to receive both Olivier and Tony Special Lifetime Achievement Awards and was knighted in 1997 for services to the theatre.
