Broadway and television veterans John Bolger, Mark Jacoby, Kenneth Kimmins, Steve Sheridan and Brit Whittle, along with Rep Associate Artist Reese Madigan, make up the cast of Five Presidents, the world premiere production from Emmy Award-winning writer Rick Cleveland (House of Cards, The West Wing, Mad Men, and Six Feet Under). Directed by Milwaukee Rep Artistic Director Mark Clements, the production is set to begin performances at the Quadracci Powerhouse on March 10, 2015. Opening night is Friday, March 13, 2015 and runs through April 5, 2015. (more...)

Like all dashing, debonair, and mustachioed bachelors, Richard Hannay has nothing to do. Listless, he decides to go to the theatre and, finally, the promise that every theatre teacher you ever had made comes true - it transforms his life. At the theatre, he meets a beautiful woman who accompanies him back to his apartment, saunters into his bedroom, then is promptly murdered in the night while he sleeps alone on his ottoman. Before the mysterious beauty dies, she fills his head with conspiracy theories that send Hannay on a wild-goose chase. He must answer the question: What (or who) is (or are) the 39 steps? (more...)

Hillbarn Theatre, the Peninsula's premier community theatre company, follows up on the success of their critically acclaimed 2014-15 season opener Funny Girl with one of Broadway's most entertaining shows, The 39 Steps. Equal parts Hitchcock masterpiece and thrilling spy novel, The 39 Steps is a high-speed comedy smash hit that follows Patrick Barlow and John Buchan's iconic hero Richard Hannay as he finds himself embroiled in a riotous chase dodging police and charming ladies across England and Scotland. Winner of two Tony Awards and the Laurence Olivier Award for Best New Comedy, The 39 Steps blends virtuoso performances with wildly inventive stagecraft amounting to an unforgettable evening in the theatre. At the beginning of Otterbein University's production of THE 39 STEPS, Richard Hannay is desperate for a diversion from the dullness of his life in London. 'I wanted to do something mindless and trivial, so I went to the theater,' says Hannay, the central character in the Christina Kirk directed production.
