The Spellbound Development Company, Kathryn Appleton and Gatewave, Inc. present a one-night-only benefit reading of Jennifer Strome's new play THE IDEALIST to benefit the Anne Frank Foundation in Basel, Switzerland and its mission to support education against intolerance, on Wednesday, February 23 at 8pm at The Times Center (242 West 41st Street) in Manhattan.

Amid an electrifying evening of dance by the greatest talents of Broadway and film, the 2010 Fred & Adele Astaire Award winners were announced at the 28th annual awards ceremony at the Gerald W. Lynch at John Jay College. The Douglas Watt Lifetime Achievement Award named for the late esteemed critic and co-founder of the Awards was presented to the legendary director and choreographer Kenny Ortega by Grammy winner Roberta Flack. Host for the evening was Ben Vereen.

Gotham Stage Company is re-teaming with playwright Randall David Cook (Gotham's Sake with the Haiku Geisha, BBC's Sushi and Scones) to present his newest work, Fate's Imagination, at The Player's Theatre (115 MacDougal Street). Fate's Imagination is scheduled to run May 25 - June 17, with opening night set for Thursday, May 31 at 8PM.

Gotham Stage Proposal Offers Free Off-Broadway Seats

Gotham Stage Company recently announced its new initiative, Honoring the Profession. The proposal will see the Off-Broadway not-for-profit theatre company making unsold seats for each main stage production available, free of charge, to students of the theatrical arts as well as to members of the theatrical unions with valid IDs.
