Blank Theatre Company has announced the cast and creative team for the second show of their 2024 season, THE MAD ONES, by Kait Kerrigan and Bree Lowdermilk.

Music Theater Works officially opened its first production of its 2024 season, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. The musical is now playing through March 31.  Check out photos from opening night here!

The semi-improvised, fourth-wall-breaking musical now receives a delightful production at Music Theater Works that's heavy on humor if occasionally light on heart. It runs through March 31 at the North Shore Center for the Performing Arts in Skokie.

Dave Malloy's staged song cycle GHOST QUARTET is a madcap romp through seven centuries of mythology, folk tales, gothic horror stories, murder ballads, and more. Described in the lyrics as a 'circular story,' the nonlinear plot follows four friends through interweaving stories that include two sisters in a murderous love triangle, a modern-day subway platform homicide, and retellings of Arabian Nights and Edgar Allen Poe's The Fall of the House of Usher. Malloy's musical influences are as eclectic as his literary sources, and fans will recognize many of the styles present in his best-known work, the Tony Award-winning NATASHA, PIERRE & THE GREAT COMET OF 1812.

Underscore Theatre Company is pleased to present its 5th annual CHICAGO MUSICAL THEATRE FESTIVAL, created to showcase and support the growing field of musical theatre creators from Chicago and beyond. This year's Festival features full productions of nine new musicals plus two free readings. The Festival will be performed simultaneously on two stages at The Edge Theater: the Broadway (5451 N. Broadway) and the new Off Broadway (1133 W. Catalpa Ave.) in Chicago Edgewater neighborhood. Each full production will receive at least five performances during the Festival. Single tickets and festival passes are currently available at www.cmtf.org. The press 'Sneak Preview,' featuring a sampling of songs from the 2019 Festival, is Monday, February 4 at 8 pm.

TITANIC is to be directed by Communication senior Brendan Flynn and produced by Communication senior Jack Eidson and School of Education and Social Policy senior Izzy Garcia, with support from a cast and team of over 150 Northwestern University students. TITANIC will run for five performances from tonight, January 23rd through January 30th in Cahn Auditorium.
