Playwrights Project will produce its 35th annual festival of Plays by Young Writers, sponsored by the Sheila and Jeffrey Lipinsky Family Fund, at The Joan B. Kroc Theatre on January 29 - February 1, 2020. The festival will feature winning scripts from Playwrights Project's California Young Playwrights Contest for ages 18 and under.

In current popular culture, the word 'epic'' has proven to be overused in a way that has leeched some of the power and awe that it would involve. However, for a play like ANGELS IN AMERICA: A GAY FANTASTI ON NATIONAL THEMES there is no other world that qualifies for this powerful and riveting show playing at the Cygnet Theatre through April 20th.

Write Out Loud - an organization founded in 2007 with a commitment to inspire, challenge and entertain by reading literature aloud for a live audience  - presents VOICES OF IRELAND,  their ninth annual celebration of the Emerald Isle, with classic and contemporary Irish tales and music. VOICES OF IRELAND is performed for one night only on Monday, March 18th at 7:30pm at Lamb's Players Theatre.  Performers include Ron Choularton, Rachael VanWormer, Paul Maley, Walter Ritter & Veronica Murphy. Pre-show and intermission music will be provided by the Celtic Echoes.

This spring the epic drama Angels in America: A Gay Fantasia on National Themes comes to Cygnet Theatre. At once intimate yet expansive, this Tony and Pulitzer prize winning drama runs March 6 through April 20, 2019 in rotating rep. There will be two Opening Nights for Media. Opening Night for Part One: Millennium Approaches is on Saturday,March 9 at 7:00PM and Opening Night for Part Two: Perestroika is Sunday,March 24 at 7:00PM.

La Jolla Playhouse announces the cast and creative team for its 2017 Performance Outreach Program (POP) Tour production, #SuperShinySara, by Wesley Middleton, and helmed by acclaimed San Diego director and Moxie Theatre Artistic Director Delicia Turner Sonnenberg (Counterweight, Without Walls Festival 2013). The production will tour schools throughout San Diego County, now through March 31, 2017.

Write Out Loud - an organization founded in 2007 with a commitment to inspire, challenge and entertain by reading short stories aloud for a live audience  - announces SOUTHERN SENSIBILITIES the second production in their 10th Anniversary Season.  Write Out Loud Story Concerts bring literature to life - aloud - with rehearsed readings by professional actors.
