Following critically acclaimed, sold-out runs at Don't Tell Mama and the 2016 New York Musical Festival (NYMF), Midnight at The Never Get, conceived by and starring Sam Bolen and Mark Sonnenblick, with book, music and lyrics by Mr. Sonnenblick, directed by Max Friedman (Ruby Manger Live!, Charlie Rosen's Broadway Big Band), and produced by Michael Chase Gosselin (POPE! An Epic Musical, The Most Miserable Christmas Tree), will return home to Don't Tell Mama (342 West 46th Street) on Tuesday, March 14 at 8pm for a special one-night-only concert to celebrate receiving a 2017 Bistro Award for 'Book Musical,' and a 2017 MAC Award nomination for 'Show Of The Year.'

Midnight at The Never Get, the greatest act that doesn't exist, produced by Michael Chase Gosselin (POPE! An Epic Musical), will be presented this summer as a NYMF @ Nite Event at The New York Musical Festival (NYMF), celebrating its 13th Anniversary Season.

Tony-winner and Grammy nominee Lena Hall returned to Cafe Carlyle with Oh! You Pretty Things, last night and BroadwayWorld was there. The all-new show acts as a love letter to Lena's rock & roll spirit guides, the pantheon of misfits and rebels who inspired us to transcend by transforming themselves. This intimate journey through Lena's personal love life will reveal how pivotal these artists have been in helping her navigate her relationships, shining like beacons and helping her shape her voice and her identity, again and again. At Cafe Carlyle, Lena Hall is joined by a band including Justin Craig, Watt White and Brian Fishler. Oh! You Pretty Things is directed by Stephen Amato. The engagement runs through June 25th.

Broadway legend Chita Rivera made her Cafe Carlyle just last night with An Evening of My Favorite Songs, an engagement that was postponed earlier this year due to an injury. The open-ended Off-Broadway engagement of SHEAR MADNESS just opened at New World Stages/Stage 4 (340 West 50th Street). Bruce Jordan directs a cast that features Adam Gerber, Jeremy Kushnier, Kate Middleton, Patrick Noonan, Jordan Ahnquist and Lynne Wintersteller. Just last night, Feinstein's/54 Below presented the debut of Jennifer Diamond, currently co-starring in the smash hit musical RUTHLESS!. Jennifer's new show IT'S MY FIRST TIME (PLEASE BE GENTLE) was directed by Broadway veteran Richard Jay-Alexander. The two first worked together on LES MISERABLES and a number of benefits and Jay-Alexander found her uniquely talented and versatile enough to put a special spin on a debut act for her, recounting her arrival in the business, her story as an up-and-coming actress and all the good (and bad) that goes with it.

There was a happening on West 44th Street! For a week, Chita Rivera brought her joyful, razzle-dazzling nightclub act to Birdland, which she calls her favorite room in the city. “These walls are filled with the best music! Playing Birdland just makes me feel cool,” she proclaimed. As if her iconic Broadway career wasn't cool enough, “Chita's Back” was a concert for the history books – with the ever-youthful legend in fine fettle; singing, dancing and telling some of the best insider stories any theater-lover could hope for. Material from Bye Bye Birdie, Chicago, Kiss of the Spider Woman, West Side Story and The Visitwere included, as well as a James Taylor duet with daughter, Lisa Mordente. The swinging was band led by guitarist/percussionist Michael Croiter, with Michael Patrick Walker on piano, Jim Donica on bass, and Dan Willis on saxophone.

Drama Desk nominees received their official nomination certificates at a cocktail reception on May 1st at IL Bastardo Restaurant and BroadwayWorld.com was there! The 54th Annual Drama Desk Awards will be held Sunday, May 17, 2009 in the LaGuardia Concert Hall at Lincoln Center.

The 22ND ANNUAL BROADWAY FLEA MARKET & GRAND AUCTION was held this Sunday, September 21 from 10 AM - 7 PM in Shubert Alley (225 West 45th Street). Celebrities of theater and daytime television came out to show their support. As in previous years, Broadway and daytime fans had the opportunity to get their photo taken with various celebrities at the Celebrity Photo Booths.

On Thursday August 14, 2008, Xanadu Star Cheyenne Jackson had his very own Broadway Wall of Fame portrait unveiled at the popular theater district Italian eatery, Tony DiNapoli's. Tony DiNapoli's is located at 147 43rd Street.
