On Tuesday, May 14 at 7pm, New York Times bestselling author Jessica Shattuck visits The Music Hall Lounge with her new book, LAST HOUSE. 

After seeing Grease on opening night, I sat down with Nick Cortazzo and Taylor Quick, playing the lead roles, to understand who these two talented performers are and why they came to Lancaster’s Fulton theater for this popular show. What follows is excerpts from that conversation:

The Skivvies are back at Joe’s Pub for The  Rocky Horror Skivvies Show on October 22, 2022 at 9:30pm.  This is the 4th year the spooky season tradition. A Halloween concert treat that puts their signature stripped-down Skivvies stamp of mash-ups and medleys on the iconic score from the cult classic musical.

The Bushwick Film Festival (BFF) has announced the full program for their 11th annual run. This year's Opening Night will be sponsored by Spectrum and kicks off on Wednesday,October 10th with a Red Carpet Reception and screening at House of Yes. The festivities will continue through Sunday,October 14th, with 40+ events ranging from feature and short film screenings to special events, parties and panels. The festival will also premiere 5 short documentaries created by 15 young storytellers from Bushwick who participated in Bushwick Stories; BFF's free summer filmmaking workshop sponsored by community partner B&H Photo and Canon. Alt-Folk Combo Whiskey Moon Face is set to release upcoming album Formless Forms on March 23rd. The Alt Folk collective have some serious clout when its comes to knowing their instruments spending many years in New Orleans playing with Tuba Skinny and Tuba Fats. Their sound is like pure honey, Louisa's vocals will resonate with fans of Joanna Newsome. 

The 18th Annual Fiercely Independent Woodstock Film Festival wrapped up on Sunday with the closing night film ARTHUR MILLER: WRITER which was followed by a Q&A with director Rebecca Miller.

DreamWorks Animation (DWA) has named children's programming leader and former Nickelodeon executive Marjorie Cohn as its first-ever Head of Television, overseeing the production and development for DreamWorks Animation's television efforts. A 26-year veteran of Nickelodeon, Cohn most recently held the role of President, Content Development, completing a Nickelodeon tenure during which she was engaged in the development, creation and production of some of the most successful children's programs in television history including SpongeBob Squarepants, Rugrats, iCarly, and the Kids' Choice Awards. With Cohn's contributions, Nickelodeon grew to be the number one cable broadcaster in the world.

Sal Polisi will tell you he's gone from "racketeer to raconteur" and, indeed, he has. His one-man show, At The Sinatra Club, is unscripted but very, very interesting. He is, in fact, a highly skilled raconteur and he performed his show Sunday at Las Vegas' Clark County Library. The audience of 315 people was totally involved, responding to Polisi's words as if he were conversing with them individually.
