Uncle Function, one of New York City's premier sketch comedy troupes, will introduce a series of HALLOWEEN sketches in their brand new show: A Very Creepy Uncle Function at The Peoples Improv Theater -123 East 24th St., Manhattan, on Thursday October 25th, 2018 at 8PM. The Uncle will be joined by two very special guests: Standup comedian, Martin Urbano (Jimmy Kimmel) & Michael Hartney (JFL New Faces 2018, School of Rock-Broadway)!

Now in its sixth year, NBC's trailblazing program for emerging diverse late night and sketch comedy writers has named its 2018 class of writers. Alyssa Feller, Jonathan Giles, Michael Hartney, John Mahone, Cameron Smith, Natasha Vaynblat and Bryan Yang were chosen to be the new class of the network's annual Late Night Writer's Workshop, the industry's only initiative dedicated to discovering and developing late night and sketch comedy writers of diverse backgrounds. Chosen from 1,000 applicants, the new class will participate in an intensive six-day program this month that will ready them to be staff writers on late night and sketch comedy shows.

The Unemployed Show is getting up from the couch and going LIVE on a stage for their first ever award show! They've aired over 30 episodes and have had some of the city's funniest [unemployed/freelance] guests. America's favorite unemployed millennial Anna Roisman hosts the show featuring star performers who also happen to not have jobs, like, on that day. Craft Your Truth, an organization that encourages and empowers LGBTQ youth to share their unique stories, is partnering with local NYC nonprofit New Alternatives for a day-long workshop culminating in a fundraising benefit performance. New Alternatives provides a range of services designed to help LGBTQ+ youth succeed in transitioning to stable adult lives and welcomes all youth as they are with no barriers to entry. For this event, Craft Your Truth is excited to be teaming up with Caveat, a Lower East Side venue dedicated to intelligent nightlife.

The International Human Rights Art Festival (www.IHRAF.org), slated to premiere a new body of activist work at Saint Mary's Church in NYC on Sunday, October 15th, headlined by Oscar- and Tony Award-nominated actress, activist and film icon Kathleen Turner, was censored by Archbishop Cardinal Timothy Dolan and Saint Mary's Church last evening, just 72 hours before the show was supposed to go up.

The International Human Rights Art Festival joins with activist theatre Culture Project to inaugurate its new space in New York's Lower East Side, with an evening of dance, music, comedy, storytelling, and theatre. The evening is headlined by award-winning actress and advocate Kathleen Turner, and will raise social concerns and offer positive solutions with humor, insight, and artistic talent.
