Casting is now complete for the Hollywood Bowl's upcoming production of Annie. The new cast members are Roger Bart as Daniel 'Rooster' Hannigan, Kaylin Hedges as Annie, Ali Stroker as 'Star-to-Be,' Amir Talai as Bert Healy, Marlow Barkley as Kate, Amadi Chapata as Pepper, Noe Lynds as July, Rae Martinez as Tessie, Malea Emma Tjandrawidjaja as Molly, and Olivia Zenetzis as Duffy.
Go INTO THE WOODS With Theatre In The Park Starting July 6

"Careful the things you say, children will listen…." Those lyrics are part of the magical Stephen Sondheim musical INTO THE WOODS, the third production in Theatre in the Park's (TTIP) 2018 summer outdoor season. Set appropriately in the "woods" of Shawnee Mission Park, INTO THE WOODS opens this Friday, July 6 as part of a seven-performance run at the outdoor amphitheater. Performances continue Saturday and Sunday July 7 & 8 as well as the following Wednesday through Saturday July 11-14. Showtime for all productions is 8:30 p.m. with gates opening at 7 p.m. This production is rated PG.

Waiting in line under the sun in hopes of landing a theatre ticket is no one's idea of fun, but for over 60 years people have been doing just that as they lounge in Central Park hoping to see performers like Anne Hathaway, Audra McDonald or Meryl Streep in one of the Public Theatre's Shakespeare in the Park productions. This year, they've recently closed Othello, directed by Ruben Santiago-Hudson, and a musical version of Twelfth Night with music and lyrics by Shaina Taub will play the Delacorte from July 17 to August 19.

Cannes' Critic Week saw the premiere of this year's newest Carey Mulligan movie, Wildlife: a shattering, 1960s-set drama in which she co-stars alongside Jake Gyllenhaal?. In it, she plays a woman who cheats on her husband. 'It's the kind of warts-and-all role that are usually reserved for men,' Mulligan said, according to Variety. However, prior to the film's fall release, Mulligan is getting back onstage and starring in Girls & Boys, a one-woman show that recently opened at the Minetta Lane Theatre after a sold-out run in London.
