Review: Children's Theatre of Richmond presents CATS: Young Actors Edition

From July 29th to August 7th, the Children’s Theatre of Richmond will present: CATS. This one-hour adaptation of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s hit musical features a cast of young actors, outstanding costumes, and many catchy songs.

It has been announced that Sutton Foster will replace Megan Mullally in the West End production of ANYTHING GOES, set to open this summer at London's Barbican Theatre from Friday 23 July for a strictly limited 12 week season until Sunday 17 October.

Since 1978, West Bank Cafe has been one of the few authentic epcicenters of New York City's theatre community, and due to the pandemic, it is on the verge of permanently closing. With Broadway dark, tourism down, indoor dining closed, and no relief plan in sight, 2020 has created a plethora of financial problems for the beloved theater district institution. We don't want that to happen.  Enter the theatre community. It's called community for a reason.

Jennifer Westfeldt ('Younger,' 'Friends with Kids') and Victoria Justice ('Victorious,' 'Eye Candy') have been tapped for the freshman season of the forthcoming scripted series 'Queen America' on Facebook Watch, Facebook's new video platform. Westfeldt's status is as a recurring guest star with Justice attached to the project for dual-episodes. This new series stars Oscar and Tony award-winning actress Catherine Zeta-Jones (Vicki Ellis). 'Queen America' is created, written, and executive produced by Meaghan Oppenheimer ('Fear the Walking Dead'). Westfeldt and Justice join previously announced series regulars Belle Shouse, Teagle F. Bougere, Rana Roy, Isabella Amara, Molly Price and Megan West.

Fiddler on the Roof first appeared on the Way Off Broadway stage during the 2006 Season. That production broke box office records for the theatre and to this day, audiences still ask when the show will return. Beginning tonight, March 13th, Fiddler on the Roof will make its return to Way Off Broadway with a new staging for the spring.

CSC Extends A MONTH IN THE COUNTRY, Starring Peter Dinklage & Taylor Schilling

Classic Stage Company, under the leadership of Artistic Director Brian Kulick, Managing Director Jeff Griffin and Executive Director Greg Reiner, announced today that its production of Ivan Turgenev's A MONTH IN THE COUNTRY, starring Peter Dinklage and Taylor Schilling, will extend through Saturday, February 28 at CSC (136 East 13th Street). The production had been schedules to close February 22. Directed by Erica Schmidt, the cast also includes Peter Appel, Ian Etheridge, Anthony Edwards, Mike Faist, Elizabeth Franz, James Joseph O'Neil, Elizabeth Ramos, Thomas Jay Ryan, Annabella Sciorra, Frank Van Putten, Megan West and Kate Wetherhead.

After celebrating her parents' anniversary dinner, Cindy Grant is forced off the road while driving back to her college during a thunderstorm and abducted by a mysterious stranger. Her parents, Allen and Shelia, desperately struggle to raise the ransom by the criminal's deadline and Cindy's boyfriend goes off to search for her, all while they continue to receive chilling cell phone calls from Cindy and her abductor.
