only on Thursday 28 February, 2013 in the Concert Hall.

Medicine Show Theatre Ensemble, one of New York's longest-running experimental theatres, will stage a winter theater comedy tradition A Mummers' Play: Prince George and the Dragon. Previews are set for Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012; Friday Dec. 21, 2012; and Saturday Dec. 22, 2012 all at 7:30 p.m. There is no performance on Sunday, Dec. 23, 2012. Opening night is Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012 and the closing performance is on Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013.

Public Theater Celebrates Revitalization of Astor Place with Free Block Party and Open House, 10/13

The Public Theater's $40 million revitalization of its downtown home at Astor Place will be unveiled October 4, 2012 and celebrated through a series of events designed to engage the entire New York community and marking a rededication to its founding principles. The eight weeks of community events will be anchored by a free block party and open house on Saturday, October 13, 12pm-5pm, during which Lafayette Street between Astor Place and East 4th Street will be partially closed to traffic and The Public's historic building will be open to all. A physical expression of the Company's core mission of sparking dialogues, fostering artistic development and experimentation, and increasing public accessibility, the revitalization project opens up the landmark building to the street and community, and transforms the lobby into a public piazza for artists, students, and audiences.

Medicine Show Theatre Ensemble opens its production of FIFTY MILLION FRENCHMAN next month, with music and lyrics by the great Cole Porter and book by Herbert Fields. Jordana De La Cruz will direct The Guys, Anne Nelson's moving post-9/11 play that has been performed in 48 states since it premiered at the Flea Theater in December 2001, just months after the tragedy. This production of The Guys will star current FDNY member Evan Davis, who was awarded the David J. DeFranco Medal in 2012 for a water-related rescue, and Kristen Schwarz, who is the Drama Director at Stephen A. Halsey JHS 157 in Queens.
