The Episcopal Actors' Guild's annual celebration of new work continues with a staged reading of Man in the Moon by Mark Karafin. The reading will be held tonight, March 20 in Guild Hall at 7:00 pm, and followed by a reception. Past Barbour Award winners include Ian August (Donna Orbits the Moon), Lynn Rosen (Apple Cove), and Laura Eason (40 Days).

Lincoln Center Theater presents Act One, a play written and directed by James Lapine from the autobiography by Moss Hart. The production is scheduled to begin previews tomorrow night, March 20 and will open on Thursday, April 17 at the Vivian Beaumont Theater (150 West 65 Street). Audiences will be swept off to fantastical faraway places this spring when '1001 Nights: A Love Story About Loving Stories' hits the stage at the Center for Puppetry Arts for a limited two week engagement, March 25-April 6. Broadway musical powerhouse Robert Lopez, innovative New York company The Flying Carpet and puppetry experts Center for Puppetry Arts, join forces as a 'dream team' to create the ultimate 'family puppet musical.'

Based on a true story, EXIT 27 combines the themes of rejection, survival, and redemption in exploration of the human experience. As the overwhelming winner of Sanguine's highly competitive playwriting competition, EXIT 27 brings a stirring perspective of raw human nature in its NYC premiere.

AEG Live has announced that the Southern gothic, supernatural musical GHOST BROTHERS OF DARKLAND COUNTY, written by Stephen King, with music by John Mellencamp and T Bone Burnett, has confirmed a tour of 20 American cities throughout the Midwest and Southeast beginning October 10 in Bloomington, IN, and ending November 6 in Grand Rapids, MI. Ghost Brothers of Darkland County will be at the Morris Performing Arts Center tonight, November 5, at 7:30 p.m.

Actor/Comedian/Director Bob Saget will host Cool Comedy - Hot Cuisine, the signature event of the Scleroderma Research Foundation (SRF) today, November 4 at Carolines on Broadway. Saget, an SRF Board Member who lost his sister to scleroderma, will be joined in the fundraising effort bycomedians Jim Gaffigan, John Oliver (The Daily Show) and other special guests. Saget's friend and co-star from the Full House days, John Stamos (Necessary Roughness),will co-host a live auction featuring six high-end packages.

The Flying Carpet Theatre (FCT) presents the New York premiere of THE MEDICINE SHOWDOWN, a new play by Topher Payne and Adam Koplan that interweaves a traditional story (inspired by Henrik Ibsen's classic 'Enemy of the People') with scenes from a turn-of-the-century medicine show, complete with tap dance, old time melodrama, country music and vaudevillian comedy. Helm - who played a variety of places here in Lancaster ---died following a long battle with cancer in April 2012 at age 71.

Matthew S. Rotundo of Omaha, a winner in the 2009 Writers of the Future Contest and published in L. Ron Hubbard Presents Writers of the Future Volume 25, has taken another step in his career as a professional writer. After seeing his winning story, 'Gone Black' published in the annual anthology-and so beating out several thousand other contestants- Rotundo is now finding that editors and publishers have become interested in what he is writing.

Known for creating contagious joy through movement, General Mischief Dance Theatre continues to take audiences on high-flying adventures. This Fall in New York City, General Mischief presents multiple premieres in a two-part performance series starting with 'Three if by Air' at the Manhattan Movement Arts Center this weekend, September 21-22, followed by 'Four on the Floor' at New York City Center Studios on October 18-19.
