Tony Award winning and Oscar-nominated actor Hal Holbrook will return to the stage on May 5 to perform MARK TWAIN TONIGHT! after his wife, Dixie Carter, passed away last week.

On Monday, May 3rd, 2010 Reading/Performance will be held of American Fiction: Loved, Banned, and Mythologized. The performance will benefit Elevator Repair Service theater company.

As part of the 2010 Marymoor Concert Series, Seattle Theatre Group (STG Presents), Live Nation, and The Lakeside Group present the second annual No Depression Festival, sponsored by the pioneering and influential roots-music magazine and website. Elevator Repair Service (ERS) is hosting their spring benefit on Monday, May 3rd, 2010. The company is currently finishing the third play in a trilogy of critically acclaimed plays based on great American novels by William Faulkner, F. Scott Fitzgerald, and Ernest Hemingway. This event will celebrate ERS's success with Frances McDormand (Burn after Reading, Fargo), Lili Taylor ('Six Feet Under'), Fred Armisen ('Saturday Night Live'), Frankie Faison ('The Wire'), and ERS company members in a one night only performance of loved, banned and mythologized American fiction. Authors include Edith Wharton, Willa Cather, and Edgar Allan Poe. Readings will be accompanied by ERS's unique signature sound design.

Actor of stage and screen Hal Holbrook has signed on to appear in the upcoming third season of FX's Sons of Anarchy. He will star in a four episode arc as Nate Madock, the father of Gemma Morrow Teller, played by Katey Segal. The season premiere is to take place in September.

The Eugene O'Neill Theater Center announced today that seven plays will be developed at the 2010 National Playwrights Conference under the leadership of artistic director Wendy C. Goldberg. The selected playwrights will spend the month of July at the O'Neill's Waterford, Connecticut campus developing and presenting staged readings of their work during the NPC's 46th season. Box office and online ticket sales open Wednesday, June 9; advance ticket sales will be available to O'Neill Members beginning Monday, May 17.
