DCA Announces Additional 2010 Shows
By: Gabrielle Sierra
Denver Center Attractions (DCA) has announced four additional engagements to its 2010 season. These added attractions include returns of MARK TWAIN TONIGHT!, TAP DOGS, GREASE and MAMMA MIA!.
Emmy and Tony Award-winner Hal Holbrook will appear in the one-man show MARK TWAIN TONIGHT! at the Buell Theatre for one night only, Saturday June 5, 2010. As Denver audiences know well, no one can embody Mark Twain like Hal Holbrook. He is one of the preeminent stage, television and film actors working today, and MARK TWAIN TONIGHT! is regarded as one of the most acclaimed and enduring performances in the history of theatre. A man in his late 20s when he first performed Twain at a tiny off-Broadway theatre in 1959, Holbrook - now 85 - knows Mark Twain as well as he knows himself, bringing a richness to the character far beyond the quoting of Twain's most memorable quips. In addition to his 2008 Oscar® nomination, Holbrook has won five Emmy® Awards and garnered seven Emmy® nominations, as well as many other performing arts honors. MARK TWAIN TONIGHT! has won the Tony Award, Drama Critics Circle Award, Obie Award, Vernon Rice Award, Outer Critics Circle Award and the Mark Twain Circle of America Lifetime Achievement Award.
