WaterTower Theatre (WTT) continues its 12th season with the regional premiere of Is He Dead?, a newly discovered Mark Twain comedy.
French painter Jean Francois Millet desperately wants to marry his girlfriend Marie, but he has no money and fewer prospects. In a moment of desperation, he hatches an ingenious plot to fake his own death to drive up the price of his paintings. Yet in order to reap the rewards, he must pose as his imaginary twin sister! Written in 1898, Is He Dead? is a comedy filled with mistaken identities, crazy complications and mischievous fun!Directed by WTT Artistic Associate James Paul Lemons, Is He Dead? Returning to the WTT stage will be Jessica Cavanagh (Indoor/Outdoor), R Bruce Elliott (Grey Gardens), Kevin Moore (My First time), Randy Pearlman (Enchanted April), Nancy Sherrard (Doubt), Paul Taylor (Urinetown) and Jane Willingham (Book of Days). Making their WTT debuts are Ben Bryant, Elizabeth Kaminski, Mark Shum and Shane Strawbridge. Scenic design is by Clare Floyd DeVries, lighting design is by David Natinsky, and costume design is by Aaron Patrick Turner.
