Mamma Mia! The Movie Soundtrack achieves platinum status. Starting August 13th, 2008 actor Michael Pemberton will join casting of Mamma Mia! on Broadway as Bill Austin. Pemberton will play the role through September 7th. After September 7th Pierce Bunting will resume the role.

The Broadway production of Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus' global smash hit musical MAMMA MIA!, held firm in the Million Dollar Club again last week grossing $1,038,790. for 8 performances ending August 3rd and topping the previous week's gross of $1,022,164. (week ending July 27th).

This week was a big week for Mamma Mia! both on stage and in film. The weekly gross for the musical clocked in at $1,007,600. As previously reported, the movie set records for its box office opening with a grand total now up to $27,781,000. Now, the Mamma Mia! Movie Soundtrack is number all the the world.

Ralph Fiennes, Tamsin Greig, Janet McTeer and Ken Stott will star in God of Carnage, the new play by Yasmina Reza, which will open in London at the Gielgud Theatre on Tuesday 25 March after previews from 7 March. God of Carnage will be designed by Mark Thompson, with lighting by Hugh Vanstone, sound by Simon Baker and music by Gary Yershon. The play, which is translated by Christopher Hampton, will be directed by Matthew Warchus.
