When Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus' MAMMA MIA! plays its 1500 performance on Sunday, May 15th

The League of American Theatres and Producers will honor the U.S. Tour of MAMMA MIA! with the 2005 'Touring Broadway Award' tonight (formerly the National Broadway Theatre Award) for Best Long Running Musical. The Awards will be presented at a ceremony at the Hilton Hotel in New York.

Following its hugely successful 12 week run from November 2004, the International Tour of MAMMA MIA! which is currently in Estonia following a sold out season in South Africa, will go to Paris, Brussels, Lisbon, Zurich, Vienna and various German cities before returning to Edinburgh on 29th March 2005 for an 8 week season.

Six fabulously successful years and 2,500 performances after it opened in London on April 6th 1999, the world's greatest hit musical MAMMA MIA! continues its record-shattering run.

For eight performances (week ending Sunday, March 6, 2005) the National Tour of MAMMA MIA! grossed a record breaking $696,369.at at The Robinson Center in Little Rock, Arkansas, topping a record previously held by the 2002 national tour of Beauty and the Beast.

Thanks to the huge generosity of audiences around the world, MAMMA MIA!, the world's Number 1 hit musical is able to make a contribution of $1.2 Million to funding relief for the tsunami-hit regions of South East Asia.

Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus' MAMMA MIA!, the smash hit musical based on the songs of ABBA, enters its 3rd hit year at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino with a special performance on Thursday, February 17.
