Acclaimed tenor Carlos Enrique Santelli, winner of the 2018 Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, will return to his hometown of Orlando this April to make his professional debut in Orlando and Mainstage debut with Opera Orlando as Tonio in their production of The Daughter of the Regiment.

The legend is celebrated with the West Coast Premiere of Approaching Ali, a new one-act opera by composer D.J. The Cincinnati May Festival has been selected by the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) to receive a Grant for Arts Projects award of $20,000 to support its 25 for 25: A New Time for Choral Music Commissioning Project. The project is one of 1,251 Grants for Arts Projects awarded by the NEA. 

A new staging of Don Giovanni, the famed opera by Mozart with a libretto by Lorenzo DaPonte, performed by a cast of top international singers, comes to The Atlanta Opera and Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre in January.

OPERA America has announced the eighth cycle of the Robert L.B. Tobin Director-Designer Prize to four teams of creative artists. The biennial prize recognizes promising stage directors and designers for their ingenuity in bringing operatic work to life for contemporary audiences and connects these rising artists with producers who can advance their careers.
