Cherry Lane Theatre's Founder's Project will celebrate 100 years of Horton Foote as they present, in a co-production with La Femme Theatre Productions, THE TRAVELING LADY, directed by Austin Pendleton. THE TRAVELING LADY will begin performances tonight and will open on June 22 running through July 16, 2017 at Cherry Lane Theatre (38 Commerce St.) in Greenwich Village. The Traveling Lady will begin performances tonight, June 7, and will open on June 22 running through July 16, 2017 at Cherry Lane Theatre (38 Commerce St.) in Greenwich Village.

Just last night, the 8th Annual Lilly Awards Ceremony, which celebrates women of distinction in the American Theater, honored Julie Taymor, Denee Benton, Micki Grant,Toni-Leslie James, Mandy Greenfield, Madison Ferris, and Beanie Feldstein. Stephen Schwartz was this year's Miss Lilly.

Just yesterday, New Dramatists, Tony® Honor recipient and the nation's premier playwright development laboratory, honored 10-time Tony Award®-winning producer Daryl Roth and Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Paula Vogel with their 2017 Outstanding Career Achievement Awards at its 68th Annual Spring Luncheon tribute.

Abingdon Theatre Company, under the artistic direction of Tony Speciale, presents the world premiere of CHESS MATCH NO. 5, conceived and directed by Anne Bogart, with text arranged by Jocelyn Clarke from the words of John Cage. The 2017 Susan Smith Blackburn Prize has been awarded to U.S. playwright Clare Barron for her play Dance Nation. On March 6, New York's Playwrights Horizons hosted a ceremony honoring the winner and finalists of the prize and celebrating the 39th anniversary of the international prize.

The Off-Broadway Oral History Project was created to fill a gap in theater history by establishing a video archive featuring the innovative artists who transformed Off- and Off-Off-Broadway in the years after World War II.

Long Wharf Theatre, under the director of Artistic Director Gordon Edelstein and Managing Director Joshua Borenstein, presents Endgame, by Samuel Beckett, directed by Edelstein. The play runs from January 5 through February 5, 2017 on Stage II. Tickets start at $29.

Christine Scarfuto is the Long Wharf Theatre's literary manager and resident dramaturg. Never heard of that position? 'It's a pretty fascinating job,' she says, one that she discovered after being in college for a while. Her job at the Long Wharf Theatre includes providing articles about the play and/or playwright for the already impressive programs that are designed by graphic artist Claire Zoghb, and for setting up the lobby displays.

MAN IN SNOW - the newest work by celebrated playwright Israel Horovitz (OUT OF THE MOUTHS OF BABES) - will receive its New York premiere this fall at La MaMa's First Floor Theatre (77 E. 4 St.) with previews beginning tonight, November 11, prior to opening night November 14, 2016.   Mr. Horovitz also directs the play. 

THE PICKLE RECIPE, directed by Michael Manasseri and starring Jon Dore, Lynn Cohen, David Paymer, and Eric Edelstein, arrives in theaters on October 21st.

Westport Country Playhouse will present a Script in Hand playreading of "Social Security," a comedy by Andrew Bergman, one of Hollywood's top comedy screenwriters, on Monday, November 14, at 7 p.m. 

Dialogue with Three Chords (D3C) close out 2016 with a reading of THE SAD TRUTH ABOUT COUNTRY SONGS, featuring Lynn Cohen (Sex and The City, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire) and Sean Meehan (The Normal Heart, The Deuce). Written by Stephen Gracia and directed by Michael LoPorto, the full-length original play sees its debut at 8pm on Thursday, October 27, downstairs at Mr. Dennehy's on 63 Carmine Street, New York, NY 10014. Admission is free with a $3 suggested donation.

Just one week until the star-studded reading of RIGHT YOU ARE (IF YOU THINK YOU ARE) by Luigi Pirandello. Featuring Brian Murray, Laura Esterman, Lynn Cohen, Reg Rogers, Angela Pietropinto, Zoe Anastassiou, Sam Tsoutsouvas, Joel Bernstein and Kate Grimes, the reading is adapted and directed by John Martello. It will take place next Monday, October 17th at 7:30 p.m. at the Cherry Lane Theatre.
