Gotham Chamber Opera presents Daniel Catan's 1988 opera, La hija de Rappaccini (Rappaccini's Daughter), on Mondays, tonight, June 17 and 24, 2013 at 7pm at Brooklyn Botanic Garden (rain date June 25). Seating is by general admission on the lawn. Blankets and outside food will be permitted. Boxed picnic dinners will also be available for purchase.

MONKEY: JOURNEY TO THE WEST, an extraordinary music-theater collaboration based on the classic Chinese folktale 'Journey to the West' from 1592, will open the 2013 Lincoln Center Festival, playing 27 performances throughout the festival from July 6 - 28 in the David H. Koch Theater. MONKEY: JOURNEY TO THE WEST is conceived and directed by internationally renowned opera and film director Chen Shi-Zheng, with music by Damon Albarn, lead singer of Blur, and design and animation by award-winning artist Jamie Hewlett, who, with Albarn, created the virtual band Gorillaz.

Lincoln Center Festival, which runs from July 6 through 28, 2013 will unfold in six venues on and off the Lincoln Center campus. Music figures prominently in the 2013 Festival with international productions by an eclectic range of renowned composers, singers, musicians and directors. Cornelia Street Cafe presents CCi's Serial Underground featuring The Life I'm Leading: Music of Daniel Felsenfeld including several premieres tonight, June 2nd at 6pm. Guest Artists include flutists Meerenai Shim (California based), Jessica Schmitz and Sarah Carrier, pianists Blair McMillen and Mila Henry, cellist Rose Bellini, soprano Marcy Richardson and violist Stephanie Griffin.

Tickets go on sale for Lincoln Center's Midsummer Night Swing starting Wednesday, May 22. Individual tickets are $17, which includes a dance lesson with a professional instructor followed by two sets of dancing under the stars to a live orchestra. This summer marks the 25th Anniversary season of Midsummer Night Swing, and to celebrate, tickets will be sold at a special '2 for $25' price on May 22 only. There are also Midsummer Night Passes priced at $84 for six admissions, and $170 for the full season. Four-admission passes are available for $60.

The Lincoln Center Board of Directors has unanimously selected Jed Bernstein, theater producer and educator, as its next president. The announcement was made today by Katherine Farley, Lincoln Center Board Chair. He will succeed Reynold Levy, who will step down as president in January, 2014.
