Austin Pendleton to Helm Mississipi Mud's THE BLONDE BOMBSHELL PROJECT

Mississippi Mud Productions will present The Blonde Bombshell Project, a new solo play written and starring Jen Danby and directed by Tony Nominee and Obie-Winning Director Austin Pendleton. Fresh from their collaboration as Catharine Holly and Dr. Sugar in Suddenly, Last Summer with Mississippi Mud, this new solo work is about about legendary Hollywood 'Blonde Bombshell' Marilyn Monroe in her final summer of 1962. ??

The Lee Strasberg Center is hosting the world premiere of a very timely new theatrical work by Jack Betts at The Marilyn Monroe Theatre in West Hollywood entitled IT GOES LIKE THIS which has a message that Americans, Congress and the Supreme Court need to hear as the subject of gay marriage is being put to the vote. Most importantly, it brings awareness to the discrimination and hatred faced by so many individuals in the world today.

The 32nd annual William Inge Theatre Festival takes place May 1-4, and celebrates the Centennial year of the birth of the Pulitzer Prize and Oscar-winning writer. The Inge Festival-the official Theatre Festival of the State of Kansas-takes place in Inge's hometown of Independence, and is sponsored by the William Inge Center for the Arts at Independence Community College.

The Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute celebrates the 150th anniversary of director, teacher and pioneer in actor training Konstantin Stanislavsky. Fifty years ago, Lee Strasberg represented the American Theatre community at the Stanislavsky Centenary celebration in Moscow, Russia. On April 19th, 2013, The Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute will continue that tradition of celebration with a symposium intended to highlight the relationship between these two great acting teachers, explore their work, celebrate their discoveries and press into how they have affected the American Theatre.

ReGroup opened SUCCESS STORY by John Howard Lawson, the 4th play ever performed by the Group Theatre at The Robert Moss Theatre, 440 Lafayette St on Wed March 6th. It will now play through the 24th of the month, and runs in rep with Lawson's farce LOUD SPEAKER. This is the first time these plays have been seen in generations. Transport Group, the Drama Desk and OBIE award-winning theatre company, has announced that the New York premiere of a new musical, The Memory Show, book and lyrics by Sara Cooper; music by Zach Redler; directed by Joe Calarco, will begin performances Tuesday, April 16, at 7pm at The Duke on 42nd Street, a New 42nd Street project, at 229 West 42nd Street. The Memory Show features Catherine Cox and Leslie Kritzer. Opening night is scheduled for Tuesday, April 30 at 7pm.

Rosanne Cash to Perform at Fundraising Event for South Street Seaport Museum

The South Street Seaport Museum today announced a gala concert starring singer-songwriter Rosanne Cash to raise funds to restore the schooner Lettie G. Howard. The gala event will be held on Monday, April 8th at the New York Academy of Medicine on Fifth Avenue.
