She may not be on stage season, but Tony winner Patina Miller will be playing a part during Broadway's biggest night this weekend.

As BroadwayWorld previously reported, for the first time ever, the Tony Awards® will present a live-streamed red carpet special, helmed by TV and Stage Star Darren Criss, two-time Tony Nominee Laura Osnes. BroadwayWorld has just learned that Sierra Boggess, currently starring on Broadway in It Shoulda Been You, has joined the hosting team.

It's just days until the 69th Annual Tony Awards, and just last night the nominees gathered at The Diamond Horseshoe at the Paramount Hotel to celebrate the 2015 Tony Honors for Excellence in the Theatre and 2015 Special Award Recipients, including Tommy Tune, Stephen Schwartz, John Cameron Mitchell, Gene O'Donovan, Adrian Bryan-Brown, and Arnold Abramson. Hennepin Theatre Trust announced today the spring 2015 honorees recognizing theatre accomplishments by Minnesota students and schools participating in the 2014-15 SpotLight Musical Theatre Program culminating in the SpotLight Showcase Sunday, June 14 and Monday, June 15 at the State Theatre (805 Hennepin Ave., downtown Minneapolis). Now celebrating its Tenth Anniversary, SpotLight is the Trust's premier education initiative which supports and honors Minnesota high school musical theatre students and programs that produce annual musicals. Minnesota native, award-winning Broadway performer and former SpotLight participant, Laura Osnes, is the current SpotLight spokesperson.

On Monday, May 25th the Theater People Podcast welcomes Tony-nominated composer Jeanine Tesori. In the interview, she talks of the five-year journey that she took alongside lyricist and book writer Lisa Kron adapting Alison Bechdel's celebrated graphic memior. After a ground breaking Off-Broadway run, the musical is now Tony-nominated and playing at Broadway's Circle in the Square Theater. Tesori and Kron have been nominated together for this year's Best Original Score award; should they win, the pair would become the first all-female writing team in Tony history to take home that the prize.

Broadway's 40 theatres aren't the only places to catch performances from your favorite stars! Well after Broadway orchestras begin their overtures, ensemble members take their dance breaks, and performers belt out their eleven o'clock numbers, the party continues at various cabaret venues throughout New York City.
