After last night's performance of DISASTER!, Laura Bell Bundy, Jackie Hoffman, and Kathy Brier joined Kerry Butler to sing 'Mama I'm A Big Girl Now' to benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. Check out the video below!

There are some conflicting opinions among singing teachers about how much you really need to know about the biological mechanics of making sound.  Although it is true that you don't need to be an expert mechanic to drive a car, you are a more independent and a much safer driver if you know basics of car maintenance, like how to check oil and tire pressure, before you set off on a marathon road trip.  Also, knowing what a car should feel like when you are driving safely in gear will alert you to much bigger problems earlier on, and save a lot on new transmissions!  This is a case where I think a little vetted information goes a long way in preventing injury and expediting progress.

By popular demand, the production recently put a new block of seats on sale through June 18th. RUTHLESS! opened on July 13, 2015 to unanimous rave reviews led by Entertainment Weekly which called the show, 'Uproarious! A mash-up of THE BAD SEED, GYPSY, ALL ABOUT EVE, plus the films of Douglas Sirk and John Waters!' RUTHLESS! recently received the coveted 2015 Odyssey Nightlife Award for Best Off Broadway Show, and actor Paul Pecorino was honored for Best Breakthrough Off Broadway Performance.

This just in! BroadwayWorld has just learned that THE HONEYMOONERS, with a book by Dusty Kay and Bill Nuss, Music by Stephen Weiner, and Lyrics by Peter Mills, is another step closer to Broadway.

NOW That's What I Call Music!, the world's best-selling multi-artist album series, has announced that they are set to release their first ever NOW That's What I Call Broadway! on Friday, April 29, 2016. The album will feature 18 music tracks from the original cast recordings of some of the Great White Way's most legendary shows. The album features liner notes by David Cote, theater editor for Time Out New York as well as a playwright and librettist/lyricist.

A lot of people seem to believe that the ability to sing well is somehow inborn, and that singers fall into two camps: those with talent, who practically come out of the womb singing beautifully, and those who are tone-deaf (suffering from the medical condition dysmelodia), and shouldn't bother trying to sing. The reality is that those are two dramatic extremes which affect only a small handful of people; the other 99 percent of us fall somewhere in the middle.

The inimitable Carol Channing was feted in style on Saturday night as the McCallum Theatre in Palm Desert, California presented Carol Channing's 95th Birthday! In Celebration of a Broadway Legend. The star-studded performance was produced and directed by Chad Hilligus, with music direction and orchestrations by Steven Baker and choreography by Charlie Williams. Now extended into the summer, RUTHLESS! opened on July 13, 2015 to unanimous rave reviews led by Entertainment Weekly which called the show, 'Uproarious! Although every teacher is slightly different, any good teacher structures the first lesson around the needs of their clients. This is a time for me to get to know you better, and start getting a sense of what sort of short and long-term goals you might have. It's very helpful if in the days before an initial session, you come up with a short mental (or written) list of concrete things you want to accomplish; don't worry, these will change over time, but in the beginning they offer a good launching point.
