Savannah Film Festival Honors Ellen Barkin and Ray Liotta During Opening Weekend

The Savannah Film Festival, hosted by the Savannah College of Art and Design, honored actress Ellen Barkin ('The Big Easy,' 'Ocean's Thirteen') and actor Ray Liotta ('Goodfellas,' 'Hannibal') with Outstanding Achievement in Cinema Awards during the opening weekend of the 14th annual event, which kicked off Saturday, Oct. 29 and runs through Saturday, Nov. 5, in historic Savannah, Ga.

Jane Alexander to Lead Signature Theatre's LADY FROM DUBUQUE

Signature Theatre Company (Founding Artistic Director James Houghton; Executive Director Erika Mallin), announced a change to the theatre's Legacy Program for the inaugural season at the Company's new home, Signature Center: the theatre will produce Albee's 1977 play, The Lady from Dubuque, in a new production featuring Tony Award winner Jane Alexander and directed by David Esbjornson. The world premiere of Edward Albee's Laying an Egg will be produced in a future season.

But the lobby proves to be no sanctuary from the world as Jeff is drawn into a local murder investigation involving his supervisor, a tightly wound young man called upon to bear witness against his troubled brother, and an overzealous rookie policewoman who is in over her head when her unscrupulous hero-cop partner catches his eye.

Lonergan's MARGARET Released Today

Margaret, written and directed by Kenneth Lonergan, will finally get a theatrical release on September 30. It originally was scheduled for release in 2007 by Fox Searchlight, but was continuously delayed while Lonergan struggled to create a final cut he was satisfied with, resulting in multiple court cases. The movie stars Anna Paquin and Matt Damon.
