Audits show donations to build a new arts center were spent on operating costs.

The early registration deadline for the sixth biennial Biz of the Musical Theatre Biz Conference is coming up on June 1.

The Drama League (Executive Artistic Director, Gabriel Shelian-Shanks) gathers today for the 82nd Annual Drama League Awards Ceremony, hosted by 2016 Tony® Award-nominees, Zachary Levi (She Loves Me) and Megan Hilty (Noises Off), in the Broadway Ballroom at the Marriott Marquis Times Square (1535 Broadway). 

Mayo Performing Arts Center (MPAC) presents its fourth annual spring production, MARY POPPINS, from June 3, 2016 to June 5, 2016.

Sketch group Uncle Function, a four time winner of UCB's Backyard Brawl, plays The Peoples Improv Theater on May 21st. The sketch team is comprised of 6 actors whose theatre and television credits include; The Awesome 80's Prom, Sense & Sensibility (Off Broadway/Bedlam), The Night Of (HBO), Unforgettable (A & E), and the new series, The Characters on Netflix. Additional performance dates will be announced soon.

After 309 performances at the Davenport Theatre, the Drama Desk Award-Nominated new musical DADDY LONG LEGS will play its final Off-Broadway performance on Monday, June 6th.

Although the Royal Alexandra Theatre will close for six months for a major renovation as soon as the show closes, the producers of KINKY BOOTS have managed to squeeze in one more final performance of the immensely popular musical.  The extra show, added to keep up with demand, will be performed on Sunday, May 15 at 7PM. 

Ken Davenport and Michael Jackowitz, the producers of the new Off-Broadway musical DADDY LONG LEGS, have announced that the winner of the "Give A Girl Her Chance" contest will perform live tonight at the Davenport Theatre.  Una Morrison of Derry City, Ireland will take the stage for her Off-Broadway debut after tonight's 7pm performance of DADDY LONG LEGS. 

The Kennedy Center presents KINKY BOOTS, the smash-hit musical that brings together four-time Tony Award winner Harvey Fierstein (Book) and Grammy Award-winning rock icon Cyndi Lauper (Tony Award winner for Best Score for KINKY BOOTS). The production makes its Washington, D.C. premiere at the Kennedy Center for four weeks from June 14 through July 10, 2016, in the Kennedy Center Opera House.

The 2016 Drama League Award Nominees for Outstanding Play, Outstanding Revival of a Play, Outstanding Musical, Outstanding Revival of a Musical, and the much-coveted Distinguished Performance Award were just announced this morning at Sardi's, by Aladdin stars Adam Jacobs, Courtney Reed and James Monroe Iglehart. Kinky Boots, the huge-hearted, high-heeled hit, today announces the opening of a new booking period, with tickets now available until Saturday 14 January.
