'Michael Feinstein's American Songbook' To Premiere on PBS 10/6

Feinsteins_American_Songbook_20010101 'Michael Feinstein's American Songbook,' a three-part series about the history of American song hosted by singer and pianist Michael Feinstein, will premiere on PBS on October 6, TV by the Numbers reports. Parts Two and Three will air on October 13 and 20, respectively. All three parts will air at 8pm on their respective dates. Feinstein will perform standards and discuss his own experiences, including encounters with notable performers and composers and his efforts to preserve the history of the Great American Songbook. The series will also include archival footage.

MICHAEL FEINSTEIN, the five-time Grammy Award nominated, plantinum-selling singer and pianist, and CHEYENNE JACKSON - the Broadway star of Xanadu, All Shook Up and the current revival of Finian's Rainbow - have announced the release of their first CD together, The Power of Two. Based on the sold-out engagement at Michael's New York nightclub, Feinstein's at Loews Regency the disc features pop songs, classic standards and numbers from Broadway shows like Kiss Me Kate, City Of Angels and The King and I.

Cheyenne Jackson can't get enough of the small screen this week. Tomorrow, November 12, he makes his much anticipated debut appearance on 30 Rock, and will also appear on the Today Show with fellow songbird Michael Feinstein to promote their new album The Power of Two. He and Michael will be interviewed and perform a song off of the album. The segment, hosted by Kathie Lee and Hoda, airs at 10:30am EST on MSNBC.
