Ford's Theatre Society hosts Now He Belongs to the Ages: A Lincoln Commemoration, a moving tribute to President Abraham Lincoln on the 150th anniversary of his assassination -- April 14, 2015, at 9 p.m. The evening includes readings of Lincoln's words and stories, Civil War-era music, excerpts from Lincoln's favorite operas, and features appearances by operatic soprano Alyson Cambridge, legendary singer songwriter Judy Collins, actor David Selby, political satirist Mark Russell, civil rights leader Julian Bond, historians Harold Holzer and James Swanson columnist Eugene Robinson, the Federal City Brass Band, and others.

This weekend, April 2-4, the Houston Symphony celebrates the iconic pop music of the United Kingdom in U.K. Rocks.

The New York Philharmonic will present the U.S. Premiere of director Co?me de Bellescize's staging of Honegger's dramatic oratorio Joan of Arc at the Stake in season-finale performances conducted by Alan Gilbert and starring Academy Award-winning actress Marion Cotillard as Joan of Arc.

Judy Collins continues to thrill audiences worldwide with her unique blend of interpretative folksongs and contemporary themes. Her Grammy Award winning performances include "Both Sides Now", an a cappella version of 'Amazing Grace' and the show tune 'Send in the Clowns', which led to a Song of the Year Grammy for its composer, Stephen Sondheim. "Amazing Grace" and "Send in the Clowns" transcend genre and style, a unique talent that this singer/songwriter displays almost effortlessly.

?The Philly POPS' Music Director Michael Krajewski is internationally known as a masterful maestro. What his audience members may not know is that he is also an accomplished travel photographer who has turned his hobby into a skill that is worthy of attention. During its April concert series, The Philly POPS will display his portfolio for public viewing in a POP-up travel photography exhibit entitled, "On the Road: Photos by Philly POPS' Music Director Michael Krajewski" in Commonwealth Plaza at The Kimmel Center.

Even Musical Theater nerds such as myself might not be familiar with “Jacques Brel Is Alive and Well & Living in Paris”, currently performing at ACT in a joint production with ACT and the 5th Avenue Theatre. I, myself, admit only a passing familiarity with the work and mostly from the covers that others have done of some of his songs. But now that I've seen it done I can understand the cultish following the show engenders and thankfully it was this production that filled the gap in my Musical Theater knowledge as this incredible ensemble took every angst ridden note and made them soar.

Acclaimed Jazz harpist-pianist-vocalist Corky Hale will present a 100th Birthday Show honoring Billie Holiday on Monday, April 6 at the Catalina Jazz Club in Hollywood. Special guests will include singers Freda Payne, Eloise Laws and Tricia Tahara, with Hale on piano and harp, Lyman Medeiros on bass, John Chiodini on Guitar and Christopher Jones on drums. Holiday, who was born on April 7, 1915 and died in 1959, was one of the most important and influential jazz legends of all time.
